Yes the point was to ask if the backlight bleed in my recently posted pictures few posts above this is in acceptable levels or not...but nobody seems to want to answer this question. I really want some legit opinions.

Yours looks like it is visible during normal usage? If so I'd return it. Here are pics of mine both a white screen and black. I've had mine for almost 2 weeks, the BLB has decreased just a bit which is good. My main issue is the top of the screen being darker. Only apparent on white backgrounds, other solid colors are totally uniform. But it does bother me, did a luminance test and the bottom of my screen reaches about 6700K and top 6013K when calibrated to a 6500K target; nearly 700 kelvin difference which is not good for a $800 monitor. Sorry for sideways photos, no idea how to fix them for this forum.

I would not accept that level of bleed. My reasoning is below.

I bought 3 PG279Q's ($800), I took the tow BEST ones of the bunch and put them side by side.
I would have done all three at the same time but I didnt have room and I was so disappointed.

Here is the side by side PG279Q's

NOTE: BOTH MONITORS WERE RESET TO THE EXACT SAME SETTINGS AND VERIFIED THAT THEY MATCHED. Also My room is not pitch black.

This is just to show the yellow tint issue with the one on the left.

This is the backlight bleed that I have in three of the four corners. the top right (in the image) is fairly acceptable
on the left monitor as it is extremely minor, the top right of the right monitor looks perfect how it should be.

This next image is comparing the right monitor from the above side by side, and putting it next to my standard $300 IPS monitor, 1080p, 60hz.

This test was just to see what the big deal is with people sending back for "back light bleeding".
The below is comparing it to the "WORST" of my four identical 24" ASUS PA248Q monitors.

There is only a VERY minor bleed on the top edge of my PA248Q,
the rest of the monitor as you see only has a slight glow towards the top left only because of the angle I took this photo at.

now tell me that your monitor is acceptable with that bleed it has . just compare it to my 24"
monitor which I have four of and they all look like the one I showed in the last photo.

I received my new PG279Q last Wednesday. Here are some pics. I noticed that the camera exaggerates the bleed quite a bit because straight on from normal viewing distance, bleed is minimal. Also, B&H Photo was the only e-tailer with this unit in stock a few weeks ago and now they are backordered like everyone else. I'm wondering if I should return it and wait for the presumed corrected batch.

That's what I was afraid of. Glad I kept the box. Now back to using my Dell 24 inch 60hz until Asus works this out--if they ever do.

Well these units just look terrible... What month were they manufactured?
The backlight bleed is ridiculous... I will exchange mine for the third time this week... Hopefully a better one...
If not, I will go for a refund and buy another one in a couple of months when ASUS will have (hopefully) improved the situation.

Mine is a December 2015 unit. Even though my BLB is pretty much gone the uniformity isn't acceptable I've decided. It is going back. Hopefully the upcoming Viewsonic 165hz IPS monitor, although likely using the same craptastic AUO panels, will put these POS's to shame and actually have some QC prior to being shipped to retailers.

Can everyone please agree to come back here and post pics when/if they ever receive an acceptable Asus PG279Q IPS monitor and where you bought it?

I for one am hoping this new batch that is "coming soon" according to all these sites will have been quality checked before shipment. But I realize that is probably wishful thinking.
