Yeah I have a good December model bought back in December... Seems that I was super lucky to get a good one...
The second one I bought beginning of Feb. The first one was also a December model, second one November, third one again December.
All with the exact same defect... Except the one I have now is the worst one... Dozens of stuck pixels, same amount of backlight bleed and also a nasty scratch on the panel.
If I would've known how bad the QC is, I would've never bought one in the first place.
Will give it another try this week and report back. Fortunately, my retailer keeps exchanging them for me.

If I could go back, I would probably buy the EIZO Foris 144hz... Even though it doesn't have gsync. But EIZO has always been known for their exceptional panel quality. They also give you a 5 year warranty. The price is significantly higher, but I'd be ready to pay even more just to avoid the this stupid "exchange until I get what I paid for" game.

Ok that is strange. I assume you took these pics from the same position. Now after looking at even your before pic, I can't believe I questioned if I should exchange mine. At this rate, your monitor will be perfect by April!

Yep i don't really understand that, i did change it's color profile , overclocked it to 165hz and dropped brighness 15%. But dropping brightness from 50 to 35 doesn't explain that change really.

actually this fully explains the phenomenon. i have the feeling very often the BLB issue (not denying that it is not there) is amplified by the brightness levels that most users set their monitor at. i calibrate my monitors to 120 nits brightness, and by default in the monitor's own sRGB mode it's already 150 nits (try it), too bright. i think perhaps it's because we are so used to store displays where TVs and monitors are set at maximum brightness, maximum contrast, maximum saturation to give the illusion of a dynamic high-colour image.

try the sRGB mode, on my PG279Q in that mode it is measured at 150 nits. so you can more or less tell if your setting of brightness level 35 is more or less than 150 nits.

Seems sRGB default values are less bright than 35. It is close though.

hiong, If you set yours to out-of-the-box brightness settings, does your have unacceptable BLB in a way that you'd want to return it?

There is some BLB if viewing a black screen with no ambient light, but it is not apparent in daily use, so I didn't return mine. First set had 3 dead pixels, so that had to go.
