Hey Ton, how are you liking that PSU? At some point I hope to scrape the cash for a new LAN build and I want to go super lightweight.

    Hey Xer0,

The PSU is fantastic.. it is fricken small and lightweight. I personally think this is one of the best SFX formfactor PSU. It had shortened cables for a nice mini rig, and even comes with two PCIe jacs (6 and 6+2).

    Hey Folks,

Ok.. time for an update. As I mentioned, this is a v2 version of the casemod. It is bascially a "refresh" from what I didn't like from v1. There were a few things I didn't like from my fist build, which I am changing for this v2. Some areas I wanted improvements inclueded, Strenght / Rigidiity of the frame, Coolant color, and GPU Power.

Here are pics of things case as V1.

Here is the picture of the Dual ASUS 560 I am planning to add to the case mod I did say more POWA!! Especially compared to the dinky 2000 series radeon, which was choosen for weight, vs performance.

Ok.. Time to get rid of the hot pink coolant. First thing I did wa remove the Corsair Hydro from the case mod.

    Taking the barb our was an easy process, just remove the screw on the side of the pump. The barb has two o-rings, which keeps a nice dry seal;

    Bye-bye hot pink coolant:

New Blood Red Coolant that will be used in the loop:

Since this is a thin loop, the turkey baster won't work. So I used a bulb syringe. Any of you that have kids, know they are useful (ps - this one is clean)

GPU Done, Coolant Done.. time for the frame.

For V1, the case was built from "wood" and "Foam Boards". A major goal of V1 was overall weight. Wood and paper, was just soo much lighter and stronger than acrylic.

In the sake of weight, I had to sacrafice looks. You can see that the smoke acrylic is much smoother and shiner than the wood ribs I used in V1.

Instead of using the foam board as spacer, I used 1/4 ID Tubing, which fit snugly on the all thread:

Here are some nice pics of the fram reassembled. I love the shiny and open appearnce of the chasis:

Now that everythign is finish, time to put the case back together:

One of the great thing about scratch built case, you can make everything fit perfectly. Look at how snugly the PSU and Radiator sit on the back of the case:

For V2, I dropped the back ribs a little. This makes accessing all the IO Ports and DVI much easier:

Here is a pic from the top:

I have 4 sticks of Corsair Dominators, which is being cooled by the Airflow:

Corsair Hydro with Blood Red Coolant keep ths CPU nice and cool:

Here is a side pic of the GPU. (I had to go single, since the new PSU didn't come in time to power the second card)

A close up of Asus's DirectCU GPU:

Top View of the case mod.. Love the black and Red color scheme of Asus and Corsair:

That is it for my ROG V2 Upgrade. This will be my submission for the Asus ROG Formula X Submission.
