So basically, I try to install windows 7 on my Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard. But most of the time the install will freeze on the Windows LOGO or when ever it is installed it works for about 5minutes and then it freezes. I also tried it with windows 10. The install works fine but when ever I get into the operating system, it freezes after 5 minutes of use. Windows 8 installs properly aswell but during the preparing devices, it cannot initialize the graphics. Please help.

What is the shipping BIOS for your motherboard?

It is the default BIOS. I never got a chance to update it.

The bios version should be labeled on the motherboard.
If it's an older version, I suggest updating to 1202 or 1302 right away.

Is anything overclocked? Clear the CMOS and/or return your bios to default settings.

Your memory is running more than 2133MHz? Please clarify.

Nothing is overclocked. I think its running at 2600 MHz. I do not mess with the BIOS and I am going to try using the Latest version of the BIOS and update if it worked. I was reading the i5-6600 Memory Compatibility and it said it handled DDR4-2133 or something like that and I am not sure of my RAM Speed.

Please report back your results. 🙂

2133MHz is the default frequency for this platform, anything above that is considered an overclock.
Once you update the bios, it should return all settings to default. Thus the memory@ 2133MHz.

Please list the part number for your HyperX memory.
