I have an Asus Strix GTX980 with the GPU TWEAK 2 version 1.0.6.9 installed in Windows 7 that came in the Asus CD, I try to install the last version GPUTweak II Ver1.1.6.9 available on Asus site for the windows 7 64 bits version but not allow me, inform that version of software that are installed not compatible with this software.

In the site support have an difference in term of the Tweak versions name, the version 1.0.6.9 show GPU TWEAK 2 and the Ver1.1.6.9 show GPUTweak II, there is difference or not?

Can you please help?

2 different versions , 1.1.6.9 is latest version {W10} , 1.0.6.9 is older version {W7. W8, 8.1}. ,

There is a Removal Tool in the drivers before upgrading Tweak ll

use Add Remove programs to uninstall tweak ll then install the latest version. or use ccleaner to uninstall tweakll

I also have an Asus Strix 390x with the GPU TWEAK 2 version 1.0.6.9 installed in Windows 10. I try to install the last version GPUTweak II Ver1.1.8.3 available on Asus site. I cannot uninstall it. I cannot install the new version. even I tried. It shows the new version in the control panel like ver 1.1.8.3, but on the GPU tweak still shows 1.0.6.9. Need help! Pleasz!

Uninstall gpu tweak ll from add remove programs , then install the latest version. DO NOT use the Tweak Removal Tool its been removed from all asus download sites as it may delete your C:/ drive.
or use ccleaner free version to uninstall tweak ll

I prefer to use ccleaner to uninstall tweak ll , then install the latest version.

I cannot uninstall. It says,

Error 1316.The specified account already exists.

Then I click OK. It says,

Error:-1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult Windows Istaller Help(Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.

What should i DO?

Moreseed use ccleaner free edition , clean the registry by using the registry cleaner in ccleaner. then install the new version , but first see if GPU tweak is still in add remove programs. u can use ccleaner to uninstall GPU tweak if its still listed in programs in ccleaner.

Thank you 699. So I just need to clean the registry and install new one? That's it?

Do I need to delete the old programme folder?

if u cleaned the registry the new version should in stall. Run ccleaner for Windows and Applications might delete the old program folder if u run the cleaner to rid old files duplicated files , files not in use fragmented files old program files , usually does , also delete Temp and %Temp% files if ccleaner does not empty them it usually does in Run Type Temp then %Temp% , when deleting temps some will not delete as they might be in use so forget tabout he ones that will not delete.
Tweak ll is one of the Worst written Programs ive come across.

I've cleaned the registry, deleted the old version, rebooted. then I install the new version.

The installation of NEW VERSION says, do you want to uninstall all the programmes? if i click YES,

Error 1316.The specified account already exists.

Then I click OK. It says,

I have been dealing with this error for days. I'm on windows 10 and seems that MS fixed IT (browser version) is not comptabile with windows 10 anymore !

All you have to do is :

1/ download windows fix it (the .exe) from this page : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971187
2/ Fallow the wizard and select ASUS GPU TWEAK II from the list and clique UNISTALL
3/ probelm solved you can now install the newer

Tweak Installer is just Awefull ., the whole tweak software is awefull.
When ever I install a new version of tweak ll I uninstall it , usually works. and that Tweak ll uninstaller they had till a few days ago Deleted My C:/ Drive and a few other users C:/ Drive
