I have a G750 JM from 2014. This is the 8GB model. I recently found that I had 2 slots for additional RAM so I purchased the following:

I did the research and these seemed to be the right choice.

When I inserted the RAM there were multiple issues that occurred. To begin, the computer did not start. There was one beep and the power light flashed once and then it did not start up.

I took both sticks out and tried with just one stick in the back slot and again the computer did not start. I then tried the front slot and the computer started up but did not recognize the RAM. The RAM in the front slot seems to be loose (is this normal?).

I called ASUS and they said they are unable to help but said the RAM should work.

I really do not want to send my computer in as this computer I use all the time for school and work.

Any help would be appreciated. Please note these are the extra RAM slots that are easily accessible, the original 8GB are still in the system.

I'm guessing the timings of the original module are CL11-11-11-28 at 800 MHz, while the timings of the new ones are CL9-9-9. When mismatched sticks are installed, normally the BIOS will either loosen the timings of the module(s) w/ the tighter timings to match those w/ the looser timings, or tighten the timings of the looser rated modules and lower the effective DRAM frequency to DDR3-1333. I would say either replace the stock module w/ one or more of the CL9 KHX for a matched set, or return the Kingstons and find yourself a kit of DDR3-1600 w/ timings of CL11-11-11. There has to be a compatibility issue (timings related) between the stock and KHX modules, even though they're all rated for DDR3-1600 and 1.35v

I have found these as a replacement. My only concern is that they are CL 11-11-11-31 and my system is running a CL 11-11-11-28. Will these still work?

The timings are ok, but the faster DRAM frequency (DDR3-2133) is a problem. This is the module I purchased to add to the 3 x DDR3-1600 that came stock w/ mine...
