Hi

I have just finished building my new pc but having problems with memory.

Cpu amd 9590fx black
Corsair vengeance pro 2x8gig 2400
Gpu NVIDIA gtx 960
750w corsair gold psu
Cant remember case design but is a thermatake

Now I have it up and running the memory is running at 1333 and if I use d.o.c.p the pc locks up and will not boot.
Please advise as this is really annoying me

Hi mtthwjef and Welcome to ROG 😉

Not sure if your Dimms are listed on the latest QVL however, Modules higher than 2133 MHz and their corresponding timings loaded via XMP or D.O.C.P profile is not the JDEC memory standard. So they may or may not work without manually keying in their values in Bios.

Go into Bios and key in Primary Timings as per your XMP profile, obtainable from within windows using CPUz or within Bios under Tools menu. You may also have to increase VDDR. If your modules are CMZ16GX3M2A2400C10 then primary timings are 10-12-12-31 @ 1.65 V
If your system continues to crash then you may have to try a different kit.
You also may have to update your Bios to latest version. clear CMOS and start your OC from scratch.

Hello mtthwjef, welcome to the rog forum.

That board supports memory with speeds up to 1866MHz, try that speed and see how it goes, 2400MHz is probably too much for it to handle. It might go beyond 1866MHz but it's hard to say how far.
