So bios 1402 finally came out for the Hero today. Has anyone installed it and had grief with it? I'm weary of installing it since the last 2 gave me so many problems. But I've heard it works well on the other VIII motherboards. Please post your thoughts. Thanks!

What problems are you having with BIOS updates? I don't remember ever having a problem caused by a BIOS update, and I've had at least 15 different mainboards (from various manufacturers including Abit, Soyo, AsRock, EPoX, and others) over the years.

I installed the 1402 update for my M8G mainboard without any issue a couple of hours ago.

This update is probably to fix the recently discovered Skylake cpu crashing bug in Prime95, etc.

Sorry for my noob question but i never done it before. My rig is overclocked and i wish to update to 1402.
Should i select default in bios before update or should i press clear cmos? The clear cmos should be pressed with psu on or off? Thanks

Disconnect power from the board, then press the clear CMOS button.

You really don't need to clear the CMOS or use default settings prior to a bios update.
All bios settings will be at default anyways after the update is complete.

it's working very good on bios 1402 on my hero 8, but only bsod 101 with firefox or chrome at 4.7GHz or higher in adaptive or offset mode when watching youtube videos in full screen regardless how much I increase the offset voltage but I have no problems running with Opera though
