I have a used G74SX laptop. The video card is only a 2GB 560M. I would like to upgrade to the G74SX 3GB motherboard. Does anyone know whether it would fit in my existing case?

I would say it will work as I have the G74SX-3DE which has the 3GB 560M.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to find out if there's much of a difference in performance between the 2GB 560M and 3 GB 560M. Can't seem to find the info on that.

No idea but all you really need to do is switch the video card.

You can't switch the video card. It's integrated into the MB.
