I kind of wish they did but I don't think they do, nothing you can really do except give it what it needs. Running your cpu at too high of temps or voltage can degrade it faster which means it will start needing more voltage for the same speed.

I'm comfortable with where mine is.

Awesome Nate! Thanks for sending me the link. That's one sexy-looking rig! Love that badass liquid cooling setup! Im glad the Formula is treating you right. If I had a fancy external liquid cooler, Id have definitely gone with the Formula too! However, Im liking the Hero Alpha. It is taking some getting used to all the changes since my Hero vi. I ran into a few roadblocks along the way, but Im starting to get it running well.

I heard that there can be a plethora of issues when upgrading from Win7 to Win 10. I was tempted to stick with 7, but I decided on getting the Samsung 950 Pro and heard its just easier to go with Win 10 if you want to use it as a boot drive. Several people on here recommended 10, and Im actually glad I gave it a try! (Im also glad I did a fresh install of it lol) Its a pretty nice OS.

The main reason for us gamers to udpate to windows 10 is for the directx 12 feature, I installed the classic shell to give it the windows 7 feel.

There are a few directx 12 games out but one coming soon I have my eye on is Far Cry Primal.

That 950 pro will make it feel more snappy, especially boot times and game load times, nice ! It's the fastest M.2 pcie ssd at the moment, I dig your rig too.

Tonight I thought I would try a little BCLK overclocking, I set the BCLK to 125.0 and lowered the cpu multiplier to 38 and set the ram frequency as close to their overclocks as I could.

With the BCLK at 125.0 I ended up with the cpu at 4750MHz and the ram a little over 3100MHz, I was able to get the ram to 1T too.

I played a round of far cry 3 coop for a half hour and cpu temps look better with core 2 showing 71c. I don't know what's up with real temp but it's not reading like cpu-z so that makes me wonder about the temps too. It was stable so I'm going to try for 4.8GHz with the same voltage.

Here is also the lighting control it's easy to use.

This is encouraging maybe I just need to learn how to tweak this new awesome motherboard, I did have the vccio and cpu system agent voltages on auto.

    VCCIO was at 1.20v
CPU system agent voltage was at 1.16v

Tried to boot to windows and got an error pc could not start which I suspected would happen so I raised the VCCIO to 1.22v and cpu system agent voltage to 1.20v and voila I'm in windows at 4.8GHz with the same Vcore. I just upped the BCLK a little more until the cpu target speed hit 4800MHz, the ram is now running at 3150MHz 15-15-15-30-1T.

This is giving me alot of incentive to continue tweaking for sure. The max BCLK on my maximus v extreme was like 105.4. BCLK is now 126.3 I wonder how far she'll go? Stay tuned for results.

Now to give far cry 3 a test again.

    Thank you The F34R Channel

I tried with the little more demanding far cry 4 and as soon as it started it froze, so I upped the vcore .05v to 1.465v and played for a half hour with no errors. Vcore is now fluctuating from 1.472v to 1.488v hmmm.....

Let's see what the next test brings, I'm going to try cpu at 4850MHz.

I don't know how far the BCLK can go with skylake but I will raise the BCLK until the cpu target speed hits 4850MHz and see where the ram ends up.

    No go.

No matter what I do my 6700k cry's for more voltage, I'm going to put it on hold right here for now with these settings. But I'm happy to hit 4.8GHz and I'm comfortable with that voltage. I haven't installed hwmonitor yet but it looks like I might have to, real temp went wonky after raising the BCLK to 125.0

The next thing I'll try is getting the ram to 3200MHz.
