    thx for nothing
tiiiiime is on my side, yes it is
ASUS doesn't force anyone to do the upgrade. If you think (you have your rights and your opinion to do it) that the upgrade is not replacement and only something about software upgrade just do it yourself.
Again Bahz is answering what we can and is doing a good work.
All the people that want to it by themselves go ahead.
For the others let's keep this thread clean.

    Yeah you're right.
    Everybody knows your opinion.
You will do it by yourself.
It would be awesome if you do the upgrade by yourself and start a sticky thread.
That away everybody could do it...at least the people that don't want the ASUS upgrade.
    That would be huge.

The so called lie that you keep speaking of is just your incorrect belief based on random information over the web. Everyone knows about the hwid stuff, there's a lot of random theories on how you can just change the BIOS and make the hwid match up and BOOM you get free G-Sync... right... so if it's that easy why haven't the super intelligent programmers found a way to make it work completely? I leave that one to you to ponder about... Doubters will always be doubters

As dio mentioned, please provide the "free" solution to everyone and you will be worshiped as a god..........

Yes, I think this chip should be the G-sync module. Just like in the G-sync monitors, but for this case, the module is installed in the main board.

I've received an email today from the support Germany.
They ask if i still want to participate at this programm.
I should also provide my information, such as Name, Adress a.s.o....
The costs are 87,69 Euro + Shipment.
The upgrade will last about 2 weeks.
Also i should pay in advance within 7 days.
    Notebook must have factory condition.
    Mainboard will be replaced.

As a for me, i will definitely upgrade my Laptop with a G-Sync.
I think it's a good addition in case of notebooks overall to gain extra smoothness in games

I had to cancel my RMA.
Couldn't afford it presently as my other halfs car has broken down. Typical.
Good to hear that Asus has extended this upgrade to July.
Hopefully I will be able to get it done soon.

It is a G-Sync control module. As Julskey mentioned, the same module is found in G-Sync monitors. Officially Nvidia says that the hardware module is superior to any software implementation. So while yes it could be implemented in software and there was a driver that made it work, Nvidia says the experience is not up to their standards. Whether you believe Nvidia or not is up to you but they are not currently licensing a software version. The only way to have legally licensed G-Sync is with a hardware module. ASUS cannot do it with software because that would violate the license they have with Nvidia.
