That looks like it would work SinisterDev.

Just remember up to 2 meters long, here are some at superbrightleds.com. You can select the length and strip finish but they are more expensive, these might have more led's per foot.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Im looking forward to making it look really nice inside my case. It's a little too dark in there imo. I've been thinking about doing an outline. Tucking them away in the corner folds and up behind the radiator, so that you can't actually see the Leds, just their awesome glow.

That's how you want to do it, if you can keep them hidden it looks much better. I don't have a 5050 led strip yet either but I'm going to get one sometime soon.

Hello, thank you for the explanation of how to use the lighting-control - very clear, and the utility looks pretty cool.
Question: how can we control the lighting from our own software?
I designed a utility that sets the power-plan according to the workload that is starting-up, and want it to set the lighting-scheme to correspond to this. I can use either C++, C#, Java, or assembly - whatever.

Thank you for your advice & help - I appreciate it.

    sincerely yours,

I'm not sure you can control it with your own software but if you are able to, please come back and let us know how you did it.

    Hi Nate152, great tut!

BTW, i tried white and it seems it is not pure white. Perhaps the white led is illuminating the other colors?

Technically there is no white color with RGB.

RGB is 4-pin, the RGBW is 5-pin.

    Lighting Control

I followed your instruction but I think the software is not working for me. I have a Maximus Gene VIII and I am trying to change the color of the logo.
Is this software (Aura) compatible for my motherboard? Is there anything I need to do on my bios to make this work?
Im running Win 10 Pro 64bit, Latest AI Suite 3, and Latest bios version. Am I missing something?

    Hello suweesep08

The maximus viii gene doesn't support lighting control, the only two maximus boards that do are the hero viii alpha and formula viii as far as I'm aware.

    Facepalm!

Thats why I can only switch it on and off using Aura. Thanks for the answer.
