Need Videocard recommendation

I sold my MSI GeForce N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC videocard and plan to replace it with a new GeForce card.
What would be the cheapest videocard that outperforms this card today? Thanks

Hi Nate, thanks for your suggestion, but I don't plan on spending that much, my budget is about $220 maximum. I found these two cards,
any of them better than the MSI 660ti?

(I'm not a gamer, I just want to have a videocard with CUDA to assist in Adobe Photoshop/Premiere photo/video editing,
and have better performance than the MSI 660Ti)

The gtx 960 has 1024 cuda cores.

The gtx 750ti has 640 cuda cores.

The gtx 660ti has 1344 cuda cores.

I doubt you will see much difference in performance if you're not gaming.

Thanks Nate, what about this one?

I can't find the CUDA cores in the specs, neither in the 660Ti, how did you find that the 660ti has 1344 cuda cores? Thanks

Here ya go.

If you're not gaming a quadro gpu would suit you better but they are more expensive. I would hate for you to upgrade and not see a noticeable difference in performance.

There's something I don't get. The 660 ti, an older card, has more CUDA cores than either the 750ti or 960ti which are newer ones, how come?
So it seems that the "upgrade" is actually a "downgrade" 😞
I thought it was more like CPU's that as they evolve they pack more and more transistors.

Hey perseid,

Are you looking to do content creation, like Photoshop or Premier? nVidia decided to go another direction with their Cuda architecture, which is why you don't really see the number of Cuda Cores like you did with the midrange cards. Obviously, for the Mercury engine, you want Cuda Cores, but something like a Quadro is way too expensive for average user vs something like a 980 ti. If you can find a 660 4GB card, that would be cool for a budget, though between clock speed, vram and availability, you are better off with a 980 or 980 ti.

Check the link and video, good luck!
