HELP to find the right SSD

Hi


I got a ROG GL752VW, I'm between these 2 models:

1- Samsung SM951 128GB M.2 NGFF PCIe Gen3 8Gb/s x4 SSD (2280) NVME MZVPV128HDGM-000

2- Samsung 850 EVO 120GB M.2 2280 SATA III SSD ( MZ-N5E120BW )


There are 2 questions:

1-Is the M.2 drive a boot drive?
2-The PCIe one is faster but if it is less compatible then is there more latency?
