G751j Notebook Says "Plugged in, Not Charging".

Hi my computer is an Asus ROG G751j and just last night it started saying "Plugged in, not charging" while the charger was connected.I run Windows 10 and have all updates installed. The charger appears to be fine as the box is lit green and it will work while plugged in.I read somewhere that these batteries are built into the desktop and that scares me since Asus would likely want an arm and a leg fora battery replacement considering it is out of warranty. Is there anything i can try? How do i make sure it is the battery?

Thanks for any and all help!

Battery charging circuit is automatic. If it senses that battery is already full, then it will stop charging. Power supplied to laptop comes from AC adapter. Then as the battery charge goes slowly down to a certain value, the charger kicks in. Sort of like a thermostat for your airconditioner.
