Ok. Now, run the Disk Cleanup Wizard, followed by Disk Optimization.

Reboot. Let me know how everything runs in the first 10-or-so minutes after startup.

I too find working with Windows 10 a very unpleasant experience (GL552VW 6700HQ/GTX960M). Things that happen instantly in Win 7 take forever in Win 10 (opening folders; especially over network, searching/deleting files to an external HD direct connected by USB to my Netgear N600 router). I have 16GB RAM and a SSD Drive so their is no excuse for lag opening folders since on Win7 it is lightning fast. I really have tried to adapt, but there is no compelling reason for me to spend time with Win10. I am seriously considering wiping the Windows 10 partition to give more room for Windows 7, or at least reducing the partition size to a bare minimum, just for future internet access when Win7 critical updates are cut-off. MS hit the sweet spot with Win7. Chasing Apple is their downfall.

Your next assignment is: play with some of the features you have available.

    GodMode Win10

    Don't forget to backup.

Another thing you might consider: find an article about caching temporary files to a Ram Disk.
