    Your kit is on the last page so it must be compatible, I don't know why they wouldn't put x99 and 100 chipsets.

    got it, I see only the very last 3 kits as I selected the 2400MHz filter on the left side.

    fact is that indeed the Memory Finder suggest this ram although it's "only" X99 optimized but not Z170.

    so the only choice I have is either use it on auto or sell it second hand and buy a new kit.

    I did have CMK16GX4M2A2133C13 before on my Maximus Viii hero motherboard and did have harlocks with that memory.
    After i did change to G.skill f4-2400C15D-16GVR there has been no problems.
    I think there is a problem with vengeance ram from corsair and the new Z170 from asus.

    There you have it and come to think of it I remember another member having problems with the vengeance LPX on z170 too. It might be best to sell it and try another kit. G.Skill trident Z is specifically for z170. You have the 6600k which is an i5. The i7's have a stronger memory controller than the i5's so don't get too carried away. You could go with 16GB of 3000MHz and it's reasonably priced.

    2x8GB will put less strain on the cpu's Integrated memory Controller.

    16GB Trident Z 3000MHz

    @TheRiwen
    that's what I'm starting to think as well, the kit you had is stated as X99 and Z170 compatible.
    if this still doesn't guarantee stability what else!?

    @Nate152
    maybe you are right and I should look for another brand.
    I'm still curious though what Corsair responds to my topic over at their forum.

    Since most RAM issues seem to be with Corsair + Z170 and there's a little misconception about which is designed for what I'd thought to ask G.Skill. This what they said:

    Dear Customer,

    The only difference of design between Z170/X99 is test platform, to pass all compatibility tests with different platforms.

    However, please kindly check our QVL for the compatible frequency/timing as following:

    http://www.gskill.com/en/configurato...276&model=2292

    Also, you can use same SPEC of memory kit as QVL, which means you can use same SPEC of TridentZ/RipjawsV to replace it, on the above link.

    And you’re welcome to contact with our sales department to confrim about the out of stock items.

    Best Regards

    Tech Support Team

    F.A.E

    G.SKILL international

    It seems designed for relates to the heat spreaders only. Having said that, I do believe that Corsair dropped the ball here, which they denied vividly upon my asking. But you can't argue with so many having these issues. G.Skill all the way I'd say!

    that's good to know The F34R Channel, thanks for sharing the info.

    what's your experience with your Vengeance LPX?

    according to the explanation in the mail I don't see why my CMK16GX4M4A2400C14 should not work properly at XMP.
    most kits of same type have similar specs across the brands, tested speed 2400MHz and SPD of 2133MHz at 1.2V.
    what mostly changes is the timing, although not really significantly.

    fact is, it does not work with no obvious reason - maybe CL14 is a bit too agressive, no idea to be honest.

    Remember that XMP is not always guaranteed to work; it depends on the IMC on the CPU really. Set everything manually, forget about XMP.

    My experiences...well the word on that isn't in yet. Have been issues for months that are difficult to narrow down so I'm slowly replacing components...RAM is next if neccesary...then the board...then I kill myself. G.Skill it'll be for me then: http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3000c15d-16gtz I'm really a G.Skill/Kingston guy, never had any issues with either. This is my first Corsair and I don't know...

    what a mess - no matter which ram I look at, my motherboard is always on the QVL list and should work.

    just too good to be true but it isn't, that's for sure.

    maybe I could get my ram to run stable by manually adjusting everything in the bios, actually I like it as long as it works as it should.
