G73JH - Upgrade 500GB C-drive to 1TB?

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the standard 500GB "C" drive on a G73jh to a 1TB internal (not SSD)?

Does the BIOS support internal drives up to 1TB? If it's possible, can the drive be upgraded to a 1TB 7200rpm?

BIOS upgrade needed?

Suggestions as to drive Mfr/model?

Thanks for any help.

1 TB should be no problem. the max thickness would be 9.5mm so any 2.5" x 7 or 9.5 should work. the only limitation would bIOS MBR has 2 TB limit. If your already using a UEFI System 2 TB is not the limiting factor only the actual size mostly the thickness would be.
Treat yourself to a Samsung 850 Evo 1 TB you will be amazed

Thanks for the help Clint.

I wish I could afford/justify the cost of the 850, by it is not to be.

Do you know if I'll run to any problem if I upgrade to a 7200rpm drive?

Is there a place that I can find out what drives my BIOS will support?

Any 2.5" equal to 9.5 or less thickness will work should be no issues with 7200 RPM there standard notebook format hard drives no mystery about them. I would goggle for "What is the best 2.5" hard drive currently" then get the best one you can afford or the get the best deal on.

Thanks again for the help. I'm considering a Seagate 2TB hybrid drive with 8GB SSD for faster booting.
