Dates shown have been 4th and 7th, so "not yet".

Debating. I know I will need the Ti as well but digging the extra ram and lower power envelope for openCL reasons.

I'm debating as well but I realize that my setup only goes as far as a single 4K monitor with no real reason to upgrade to a VR system yet. So I'm gonna try and hop on the 1080 around black friday.

Given how incremental the internals of Pascal are in many regards, it seems plausible that its pretty "meh" in terms of performance, but far less trivial in terms of chip yield, sourcing, etc... You can see something like this requiring a bigger architectural shift to really flap its wings...

Yeah I suspect HBM2 stocks are not high enough....

Whatever this chip is not full chip....so It'll be a repeat of the original Titan...and more cards sold for Nvidia....

Cut down Titan GDDR5X...1080Ti maybe a bit more trimmed off...then Titan cut down with HBM2... then 1080Ti HBM2... and then titan full chip hbm2...and then

    Then we'll be poorer

Whatever...if it's really 60% faster than Titan X Maxwell...might have to jump...that puts 4K 60fps on the table on one card

    SLI, is dead Jim

Nope, VR/immersion will just have to up its game now... I'm just drooling over those computes tho... Per eye 5K panels 90+ FPS FTW

Hmmm...unlike Wall Street banks, VR is not too big to fail...porn may save it.

Will need 8K eye panels at 144Hz and AAA titles

I give it a couple of years...

Bring on the Titan X Black Volta octa-SLI holodeck

I hear ya... It's been a dud promise for a long, long, long time...

In terms of resolution, I don't think you will need 8k/eye panels, but you will need that refresh rate.

You will also need a LOT more and better software. Right now we are looking at proof-of-concept level software compared to what will need to happen pretty quickly for it to succeed.

I say all of this as someone who's tried them, but not yet bought one. Stuff out this year was light-years beyond what we've seen in the past, but still half baked in a number of regards.
