Well, all I know is that is very linked to the BIOS (sorry, UEFI to be more precise) version.
From my own experience, my own GL752VW was loaded with Bios version 205. The splash whas the ROG logo.
I decided to update the BIOS to the latest version available (212) and the splash had become the "Asus in search of incredible" logo.
I also happened to notice that after this upgrade, the booting time was significantly longer. So I decided to downgrade and got back to 205 again.
It worked for me but WARNING : BIOS downgrading is always considered as a bad, bad, bad idea, with possible risk to brick your laptop!
Otherwise it doesn't seem to be feasible anyways : http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2655004/change-bios-splash-screen.html

Oh... I don't know which bios I have, but I guess I have 212 since I got the laptop last Friday.
Well I hope they fix this in the next bios update. Anyway, thank you!
