Cold & warm boot on RVE - help needed

So, I'd like if someone could shed some info onto why an X99 setup seems to boot forever, sometimes taking quite a long time.

My current config is:
ASUS RVE board (1902 BIOS)
Intel 5960X
ASUS TitanX
ASUS Xonar Essence
32GB (4x8) 3000 XMP2 default
Samsung XP941 M2 drive
Samsung EVO 1TB
Samsung 840 Pro 512GB

What is causing a long boot? How long is the boot expected to be? Is the default ASUS TitanX BIOS a GOP (EFI) one? What to do to make it faster?

Thanks.

a cold boot is always a bit longer. On a warm boot where the q code would end as 40 I am usually 12 to 15 sec. Cold boot im around 20 sec. x99 does memory training on startup that's mostly what it is doing. What if any overclock do you have on the system? What q codes does it halt at the longest?
Maximus XI Formula, I9-9900k, Phantex Evolove X, Seasonic Titanium 850W, Custom loop PE360+SE360 Rad, G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200C14 32g, Nvidia Reference RTX 2080 TI, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1Tb, Windows 11

So, warm boot takes me about 20 seconds to Windows. Cold takes a bit longer.

One weird thing is tho, that sometimes boot or shutdown take quite some time and I'd bet it's something to do with USB...

Hey,

I had a problem with my boot sequence going through 4 times (DDR training) before actually going to windows. When you boot you could check if you see the same q codes over and over before finally booting into windows.

How did you solve the problem?

Hey,

I had changed the memory training options from "auto" to enabled. So when it was enabled, the dram training would take more or less 20 seconds. Same q-code would cycle 4 times before going into windows. Reverting the option back to "auto" fixed it. I had used that option to make sure my settings were stable (passing dram training without loosing dimms). This option is in the dram section in the bios (at the bottom of the page where you can change your dram timings.)
