ASUS ThunderboltEX II and Rampage V extreme

When I bought my Rampage Asus techs said it had Thunderbolt on board. I bought and yes
it did have a connection on board for thunderbolt. My most recent communication with Asus
, today, I was told thunderbolt is not compatible with the connection and I got a blank response. What is the real life story of the Rampage V Extreme and Thunderbolt II.
    Bob

I see topics here and some have it running. But I'm under the impression that it should work without work around's.

    Hello

As some threads here will show the ThunderboltEX II works fine with the R5E requiring no sort of workaround.
