Hi,

which mobo pick up for 2x GTX 980 TI Stix?
https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/STRIXGTX980TIDC3OC6GD5GAMING/

I'm not sure about SLI air flow from GPU coz GPU cooler is big and looks like pretty close to each other.

What do you think?

Hello BuzzFuzz

Welcome to the ROG forum !

Most z97 boards have been discontinued and you'll pay a premium because of it but the z97 pro gamer is available.

Thanks Natel152, I understand this part and chipset.

Looks like I need motherboard with 3xPCI and using:

1x PCI 3.0
and
1xPCI 2.0

I'm not sure if both 3.0 are too much close to each other both cards in 3.0 PCI slot

Spacing shouldn't be a problem but you'll want to make sure you have good air flow in your case.

That 980Ti fan design vents little or no hot GPU air out the back of the case.
It's the main reason why I stay away from it and prefer the reference fan on these high end GPU's.

So like Nate said, you will need very good case airflow to accommodate them in SLI.

Case is Corsair 540 with good airflow.
Will report in next 2-3 days when motherboard will arrive.

Thanks
