    OC help

I got inspired by this thread and have been trying to optimize mine all day...looking for tips. I'm air-cooled and actually need to swap out to a different fan that I already have. I got the CPU to 4.2 Ghz but the cores are running way too hot with the current fan setup (>70). I have the Gskill Ripjaws 2666 memory. I'm currently running that at 2400 as I was not being able to get it stable at or above 2600 or 2666. I'm strapped at 100.
I haven't yet been able to adjust secondary or tertiary timings with any success (doesn't boot). I could definitely use ideas.

I've also been trying my hand at some memory overclocking. I have a 32GB kit 4x8GB sticks. They're rated at 3866Mhz. In practice with my 6950x, stability is achievable at a maximum of 3200Mhz. At 3400-3466 I must loosen my timings significantly, and at 3600Mhz my Rampage V Extreme (Not edition 10) will not boot. So I'm pretty happy with where I've gotten my RAM following a couple guides for reference:
    https://linustechtips.com/main/topic...locking-guide/
    https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...Motherboards-!

Using these guides I've been able to tweak a few settings in the secondary and tertiary timings and I pushed primary as far as I think they will go as well. Hope these links help. Heres a screen of my AIDA mem bench.
