I assume its the "Intel Management Engine Components" that has the Intel USB drivers to be uninstalled via Add/Remove Programs?

Ok, just like before, but with auto driver update disabled and internet disconnected, the Intel USB drivers still come right back time after time no matter what, I do not have the check box option you show in the screenshot.

Also, when I go to run the Intel USB3.0 driver v4.0.4.51, it says "my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" which now I remember is exactly what I remember it doing from before when I tried the station-driver version for my mobo. Is it because its only for Win7 and I'm on Win8.1?

    I don't know what I'm doing wrong?

    Here:
    http://plugable.com/2012/12/01/windo...t-controllers/

It's not that easy as I expected but looks like it's Windows 8 fault.

If it doesn't work, try to do the normal Run in Compatibility mode to Windows 7 SP3 in the driver update app (Right Click in the app exe, Properties, Compatibility tab.

Exactly. But first try the installation via Compatibility mode please.

If it don't work, follow the steps from the website I shown you to force install the drivers.

I know that works because I've done exactly the same procedure to my mother's Dell Optiplex 780 with a Core 2 DUO that by Dell page doesn't support Windows 10. Since I don't like to use the Microsoft WHCP drivers (the version of Intel Graphics Driver from Microsoft doesn't run the OpenGL Apps, needed for the emulators she use to play games and because of all the problems it sometimes give), so I installed all Windows 7 Drivers and it's going strong.

My GL551JW and the Main PC is exactly the same, Official Drivers from Asus Page and Microsoft Driver Update turned OFF.

When I go to Compatibility mode, it just has Win7 (already checked) with no additional service pack options, no dice.

Also (not that it effects the issue), I just installed the Asus chipset driver v10.1.1.17 but not the MEI v10.0.0.1204. I need to install that as well.?

I think onto the plugable link... the .inf file links in the plugable page are dead though?

Add: I think the plugable link is this, if I'm not mistaken. It was suggested to me earlier but never got around to doing it. Section E (A) - modded drivers

Yes you could try that plug in ones.

You should install both, the Asus Chipset and the Intel MEI ones.

And then try that Plug in ones, if the damn installation from Intel doesn't work. And thank you for that plug in page, another resource for me when doing stuff!

    Sorry, slightly confused. But first;

I did the winraid one, and it fixed my transfer speeds but not the disconnect/reconnect issue on the mobo header.

I think either one I try, the end result is the same, get the v4.0.4.51 Intel USB3.0 driver installed.

Any idea if or how the drive drop issues can be sorted out?

Also, if I try the plugable option, i need their .inf files, which are unlinked now.

Add: I was confused by what you said "And then try that Plug in ones, if the damn installation from Intel doesn't work.". Do you mean, try the if the Asus Intel drivers dont work? Sorry
