What you shown was what the user that created that thread had done first before he had come with the modded and signed drivers for Windows 8.1, the ones I downloaded an uploaded.

If you extract the same file I sent you, that same files he refers are inside, already modified.

    Duh, I apologize.

Ok, I did do Fernando's winraid modded driver and it improved speeds, but not the connection issues on the 20-pin header. Did you have that issue? Or, just the transfer speed issue?

I don't have the issue, or at least I don't found it.

Nor in the GL551JW or the Rampage Extreme V. All with the Asus Support Drivers, Automatic Updates Turned OFF.

But I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64 in both.

Cool. At this point, after some goofing around on my part (sorry about that), I have the drivers installed and speed issues solved, but still have issues with the mobo header.

I ~know~ its not the case ports because I confirmed the issue with another 20-pin cable. The drive works fine on any other machine. Unfortunately, I don't have another USB 3.0 drive to test. USB 2.0 devices work perfectly on the ports.

Its either the mobo header itself. Maybe a power delivery issue to the drive? Or, an issue with the drive firmware.

I have no idea... Maybe I just bite the bullet and update to Win10 before its not free anymore.

Issue with the drive firmware. I don't see being the Motherboard itself.

Yes you should try the Windows 10. USB 3 in Windows 10 is reliable. If you have an extra disk, just install it in there, experiment and if you like do as your main system.

Looks promising. It appears near the first link, prior to, @Clintlgm mentions the possible power related connect/disconnect drive issue...?

    https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...l=1#post503803

Haven't found any solution that jumped out at me. Basically appears that @Gps3dx's solution is what I have done?

Add: I read through the entire thread (skimmed) and no golden solution jumped out. Its hard to tell if the modded drivers I installed should fix the issue or not. I may have missed something in reading. It may be power related. They discuss turning off power saving type things which I have already done, etc.

This does suck. Basically no working USB 3.0 case ports as of right now. Life could be worse I suppose.
