GL552VW M.2 SSD Upgrade - help

Hi all,

This is my first post here, and my first ROG laptop. I must say, so far, my ROG experience has been far from great.
After a disappointing unsupported Windows 7 laptop and yet another very frustrating victim of the 950 PRO incompatibility I still have a bitter taste in my mouth..
Hopefully now things will finally start taking a turn for the best..
After returning the wasted 950 PRO, I bought a 500GB MX200 Crucial that's compatible with this laptop..
But, I don't know what I'm doing wrong that I'm unable to install Windows 10 (W10) and run BIOS in fast boot mode..
As soon as I disable CRM (not sure those initials are correct..) in BIOS I'm unable to boot.
What did I do wrong and how can I have a proper W10 installation?

Also, totally unrelated to this, is it possible to Battery Life Extender option (charging only up to 80%) to avoid a short life battery?

Thanks.

Did you have the latest BIOS for that model of Laptop?

That SSD is SATA 6.0Gb/s interface.

Try this:

1. Go to BIOS >> Advance Settings
2. Change SATA Mode to IDE/AHCI (backward compatible) in PCI Storage Configuration
3. Set SATA Support to All Devices
4. Enable CSM and set

Boot Device control: UEFI and Legacy OPROM
Boot from Storage Devices: Legacy Only
Boot from Network Devices: Legacy Only
Boot from PCI-E/PCE Expansion Devices: UEFI Driver First

5. Disable Secure Boot (Set to Other OS)
6. Set Booting Order: 1st priority M.2 SSD 2280, 2nd DVD-ROM
7. Install Windows at selecting disk step, at drive option, delete any partition of M.2 SSD

I copy this from other post here, not sure if It have all the options stated above.
