[PG279Q] Display vibrance concern

Hello tech enthusiasts,

I just purchased a PG279Q and I'm very much impressed with the overall performance of the product, though I'm concerned with the picture quality and was wondering if anyone here notices the same.

I got very lucky with absolutely no light bleed (yellow tint in the corner of the display) according to other reviewers when presented with a black background.

Though my concern is the image, I notice this faint brightness / grey shade that encompasses the entire screen. Blacks are not as pure / deep as expected.

Regardless of changing the products settings the "grey hue" still persists.

For instance while playing games I cannot help to notice all colors have a "dark red / green / blue" to the picture. Instead of a vibrant green I see a dark / grey green (grass / trees).

I have changed the digital vibrance in the Nvidia Control Panel and it helps ALOT, thankfully, but I still notice this "fog" in games particularly in the distance /backgrounds of mostly all graphically intensive applications / games.

My question is, has anyone else noticed this? Is this what people refer to as "IPS glow"? If so is there any tweak to reduce the problem besides the Digital Vibrance tool?

Thank you

What's the profile you are running in the PG279Q?

If you want, you can add the ICC profile (if you don't have a monitor calibrator) and try to improve a little bit the colour. Mind it that even been a profile from the same model, they are differences between LCD panels, even being the same model.

Another great review with some insight about the performance of the screen, with some info for tweaking.
