G550jk Keyboard problem when fans are full on

Hi everybody,

I'm having odd issues with my rog g550jk fans and keyboard. Since last week, the notebook's fans started spinning full a few minutes after booting. The main problem though is a column of keys (keys 'i', 'k' and ',' ) goes crazy typing multiples visible and control characters for each press. They keyboard problem is related somehow with the fans. When the fans are not full on, the keys work well, then the fun is full on, the keys fail.

I have filmed a short video showing the problem

You can hear the fans noise in the video

Things to notice:
* The problem is in both Windows 10 and Ubuntu (dual boot). It takes a few minutes more to the fans start spinning full on Windows
* The CPUs are not loaded at all
* The CPUs temperatures are low and notebook is cold to the touch
* I haven't installed anything wired in the last 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure is hardware related
* I have opened the low panel and cleaned keys and bottom with compressed air without luck. Notebook wasn't particularly dirty though
* Again, if the fun is not full (like half speed 2700rpm or less) keys work perfectly
* I'm using a spare usb keyboard at the moment but I am a bit afraid of the fans getting worn because of being full all the time. Also I prefer my notebook nice keyboard

Have anybody had the same problem?

Cheers

What are you temps on your CPU and GPU doing? As in is there a reason the fans are running at full bore.
Ive only had issues like this over dirty/ crapped out keyboards.
Fans could have issues with either getting commaned to full speed when they should not be or dirty heatsinks driving the temps up and causing them to run more.

First step, what are the temps doing.

CPUZ HW monitor gives you a min max and loads etc.

Hi Justin, thank you so much for the super fast response.

I've read about both problems but never related like this

I didn't spill anything on the keyboard and it works fine when fan is not full. I haven't changed settings to speed up fans.

This is a video of a just booted Windows. Keyboard is fine, fans are slow

After 5 minutes or so, same problem, now in Windows. I have just opened Chrome and HWMonitor.

I'm thinking about dissembling the notebook all the way up to the keyboard for better cleaning but I don't want to screw it up more than it currently is.

CPUs max temp is 125F 55c but theystay strong at 90F 32C. After go full on, fans stay full forever

Any recommendation?

Hi again, I've spoken to support and it looks like it is a Motherboard issue that affects both the fan control and the keyboard.

Does anybody knows where I can buy the motherboard for the g550jk model? I'm going to London and Barcelona for work soon and I hope I can find it or delivered to there.

Cheers
