Ever Since Driver Update Random Crashes On Desktop

I had updated my drives twice they crashed with 285 nvidia drivers and 290 im going back to 268 default i get with my computer. Why would this happen? it always when im on my desktop it just crashes and screen goes black and the drivers finally restart and tell me your drivers have crashed. it just crashed about 2 hours ago the processor completly stalled and it crashed then i went back to 268 whats going on?? my computer is almost brand new

Also for some reason it only happens when im on desktop THEY ARE VERY RANDOM AND DOESNT HAPPEN VERY OFTEN...

When you install your next NVIDIA version, boot into Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key once the ASUS Splash Screen is displayed. Choose the "Custom" install option for the NVIDIA driver installation, and be sure to check the "Clean Install" checkbox. By installing from Safe Mode, you will eliminate running drivers that could potentially interfere with the installation. The NVIDIA "clean install" option will uninstall your previous driver installation and hopefully eliminate problems for the subsequent installation.

You could also try using Windows System Restore to restore your system to an earlier time when it was stable, then retry the NVIDIA driver update from Safe Mode.
