    I love how verbose ASUS changelogs are. They really allow users to make such informed decisions.

    I've just got my system in less than a month and already flashed it 3 times:
    Initial BIOS => 1504: No problem
    1504 => 1601: No problem
    1601 => 1701: Had the 55 Error when setting it to XMP, reboot, went back to Auto, reboot and back to XMP again. Now it works without taking the DIMM out.

    I work with desktops and laptops from a very popular business PC manufacturer in the US... Every time a new platform comes out, we get rapid-fire BIOS updates, sometimes two per month, sometimes one every month or two for the first year-and-a-half or so. And no detailed changelogs, either. We just keep updating and one by one, bugs slowly disappear. (Not fun when a particularly important fix comes along, and we have to flash BIOS on dozens of remote machines...) It's pretty typical in the industry. Z170 is still early in its life cycle; we're in that period when Intel, Microsoft, and the hardware engineers are still sorting out details. The problem with a high-end platform like Z170 is that there are so many possible configurations, it's impossible to say that version "XYZ" will fix a particular issue. It may for some, but not quite for others. So it often takes a few updates to definitively say "bug fixed". But every step along the way helps overall stability, so that's kind of where the vague change statements come from.

    I agree with you, I think you probably have absolutely right but how can you explain the fact that other manufacturers give you details about their updates? As a user I would like to know the changelog as it would help me to know if my issue is fixed with this version. So I may avoid the pain of reconfiguration every time a bios update take place. It's like the software drivers for example , it's the same thing. I hope Asus listen and give more information in the future, at least let as know the critical issues that a bios update fixes
