My first major build

I have had a few build already. Mostly just upgrading this part or that part as money comes along. However this is the first time I had the money to go all out on a build. So I did. This is what I ended up with.

Hi Killertofu

That looks like an awesome build and yes please post all the pics you want, we like pics. 🙂

32GB of 3400MHz might not be as simple as enabling XMP and go although it may, but if it doesn't go you'll need to raise the vccio voltage, cpu system agent voltage and possibly the Dram voltage.

It might even be better to set it manually, you won't know until you try it.

Extreme supports 3400MHz. XMP should work there. I agree on VCCIO and VCCSA. He can also raise the boot time voltages without changing the actual voltages just in case.

So im am having issues with A1 and A2 ram slots. They don't work. I have tested all the ram in B1 and they work. I have also put them both in B1 and B2 together and they work. however when I put any of them in A1 or A2 I get code 55 (no ram detected) or code 41 which is not in the book but I think it is overclocking failed. with code 41 it will reboot over and over again. Once I turn it off and back on it will just go to code 55 and hang. I have searched the internet and found a few different ways to attempt to fix this. I have changed the voltage to the VCCIO to a few different values as well as the SA. I have Upped the CPU voltage. I believe I changed the volts to 1.20 and 1.25 for IO and SA also changed the volts for the ram from default .085ish to 1.25 and 1.35 and 1.375. But I cant seem to find the sweet spot to use A1 or A2 even with a single stick of ram. I am about to call Asus directly and see what they say about it. My last call is to RMA the board. But I really don't want to remove everything from the board to do it... Any other tips?

I am fairly new to OC. I have toyed with it with my old comp with a programs help but never kept the settings.

If that doesn't work, remove your whole system from the case. Put the motherboard on top of the cardboard box that it came in. Then proceed to inspect the CPU socket for any bent or missing pins.

Loosening it did not work. I will inspect the pins tonight. B1 and B2 still work and i need my computer running most of the day. I will let you know if I find anything.

Success!!! I took the CPU out and checked for bent pins... There was ONE pin off center. All i had to do was ever so slightly adjust it a little and it read the ram right away! Now im thinking about it I should have taken a picture.

Here are the pics for my build. Im not a photo crazy kind of guy but here you go...
