Is anyone else surprised that the Rampage V Edition 10 only has one U.2 port, whereas the X99-Deluxe II has 2 U.2 ports?

The dirty truth of all this U/M.2 is that even 40 lanes becomes a limit when 2 x16 GPUs are in play. Add a USB, 10GbE or encoder or other x4/x8 card and where does the U/M.2 x4 channel get its bandwidth?

My guess is that they are not ignorant of this issue and made the call.

Frankly, I either need to get a WS board or dump my M.2 and go back to SSD raid for openCL reasons...

I get luck with Z77 FTW, I think I was 3rd guy on the world who didn't had problem with that board.
But they stay completely in P67 and Z68 season while ASUS launched T-Topology and better BIOS and made one of best Maximus even V Extreme.
Board was and probably nicest and maybe best Maximus ever.
If you want all function and innovation and if your brain can't ignore nice details you need to go with ASUS ROG or WS.
Deluxe is nice as well only not my style somehow.
EVGA have fine motherboards but on software level and options years behind ASUS, I mean 5 years at least.
Only if their motherboard work without bugs and you have no problems on beginning than probably will work 88 years because they choose nice hardware,
To be honest everyone today try to offer best VRM and features, MSI and ASRock and GIGABYTE.
If ASUS launch Rampage only in big format I will stay on E-ATX motherboard even if I planned for Skylake successor of i7-6850K to build mATX platform.
Example Rampage III Gene was cool, Rampage 4 Gene even nicer.

Well i like asus mainboard, and the rampage v 10 looks good, but i have a bad experience with the rampage iv black which was not supported really soon (release date 12/13 (date where you can really buy the card) and last bios 07/14).

So what is the impact ? No official support for NVME (if you use Huper M.2 for example) or Asus USB Card 3.1 ... for the cost of the card it's sad that people have to tweak their bios to add it ...

Skylake-X will appear in less than a year now, so support for Rampage V 10 will probably end quickly ...

The soonest I am aware to have it is Newegg which is supposed to be estimated for Friday. They already have a second bios up for it so that is good. I don't know of anywhere in the US that has it right now.

affirm, that's what the manual sez. Kinda disappointed there is no reference to M2 SSSD set up procedures in the manual. Guess I'll have to refer to Chino's procedures for the RVE . Can't see them being much different
