Guys, are you jumping to new RV 10 Edition???

Looks sexy and maybe all usb ports will work ok!!!

TBH, there are so much new expensive hardware from monitors, mobo, cpu, VR, graphic cards flashing quickly before my eyes, my rig is not even two years old. I like upgrading for new hardware but there's a limit for me. I'm resisting as much as I can for couple of more years.

I think a 5930k with 2 980tis will still be able to run anything at max settings for quite a while Hell I haven't found anything I can't run on max settings in 3D Vision 1440p yet, which is basically running 5k. I don't obsessively hunt the perfect overclock because I need to, I do it because it's fun

I got the same as you. Right now I got 6 cores, a M.2 SSD and SLI 980Ti. The new pascal, the new Asus 34" curve monitor, heck, even the VR stuff and the newer ROG Swift monitor are pricey. I'm going to take a sabbatical because it can be a little too obsessive with upgrading to newer hardware. Famous last words though if the new 1080Ti is mind blowing fast. Gah, it's hard

The new ROG Swift doesn't do 3d vision, does it? If not, I'll stick with my original

This is getting pretty off topic though, should move this convo to the edition 10 thread or something.

Did pass 8 hours OCCT 4.4.2 on 3101 unmodded. Started HCI memtest a few hours ago and will let it run until after work tomorrow. Will throw in 8 hours each of Aida and Realbench and 2 hours of Heaven benchmark for good measure, then I can finally lock in my final OC and the neverending quest can finally be over. Phew!

Crap. I just totally jinxed myself, didn't I?

Btw, I'm open to any suggestions on other stability tests to try, as long as they don't generate more heat than OCCT. I get max cpu temp 80c and max core temp 76c in an 8 hour run of OCCT large data set, which is pretty much exactly my max comfort zone.

intel XTU is a good one i fined if i can pass that im good to go. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/pro...ity-Intel-XTU-

then il have a look on HWBot to see if theres out i can get some point off. its always good to mix your testing up a bit. try not to stick to just running the same ones over. http://hwbot.org/benchmarks

the best testing you can do is just to use it day to day. a test i do is open 100+ taps in chrome some with videos on them, start super pi 32m, then load up a good game to play like fallout4, the forest, arma3 or any games you like playing at the min and just see how it gos.

Hey Qwinn, been following your posts with interest here (and over on the OCN thread)..

Have you found that 3101 yields better benchmark performance in AIDA?

I'm working on a 100 strap 34x CPU 33x Cache O/C with un modded 2101. 3000 RAM running at 2800 timings. It is 30 minute "AIDA stable" which is good enough for me, for now.

I tried the same settings with 3101 and couldn't even get a Cache and Memory benchmark to run.

Yep, Aida gives much better results on 3101, reads go from 63k to 66k. I recently had to drop command rate on the memory from CR1 to CR2 to get rid of some stability issues, but the 3101 boost more than compensates.

The OC you're describing sounds like an underclock... doesn't boost normally go to 37x multiplier? It does on the 5930k anyway. Either way, even on a 5960 that boost is so mild, you might as well test it on stock first and see.

Edit: I'm now guessing you meant 125 strap if 100 is what you actually set it to, that might be the issue!

Interesting side note: someone over on OCN said he's getting qcode 19 on both 3009 and 3101. I told him try enabling the HE SFR Adjust setting. That actually gives me qcode 19, but....

How's goin new BIOS guys? Is it nice this time? I am just uploading.
I am not a prophet but I think new bioses are being optimized for a new line of CPU's for now...

Attachment 57510 this is how new bios works with DIP5 (just a note)

Furthermore there are new USB drivers included marked as beta maybe if some of you have problems with USB could try these...
    ASM1142 Driver V1.16.33.1
Improve USB device compatibility, eg. Oculus VR.
