Which memory kit are you using to achieve such impressive bandwidth ? I've the G.Skill Ripjaws IV @ 3000 CL15-15-15-35 1T but I can't reach your score at all.

Wow, I paid like 270 for these a year ago, 139 now!

    http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?it...82E16820231798

Note it's a 1.2v kit, not 1.35v. I'm actually using the exact same timings that the xmp settings use for 2666, I just upped the frequency to 3000 and the voltage to 1.38.

Note that your cache o/c is going to have a real impact too. I'm running my cache at 4.2. What's yours at?

I have noticed that my scores seemed unusually high for my speed and timings compared to.others, even before the boost from 3101.

Bios 3101 seems to have locked my ram to 2400MHz and CPU to 2.8GHz when it's suppose to be 3000MHz and 3.5GHz. The POST screen says the correct settings, but CPU-Z and AIDA 64, both say 2400 and 2.8.

Spacedonkey: If it was just your cpu clock, I'd be tempted to say it was downclocking caused by either adaptive voltage or c states. I don't know of anything that downclocks memory, though, so no idea, sorry.

Here's a question that's been nagging me. We know that 3101 updates a couple of firmwares, that's what the two extra reboots are for. My question is, what if you switched to BIOS 2 that had a pre-3000 bios on it. Would that make you run an older bios with the newer firmwares? Could that create problems? Or do the dual bios' s each have their own independent MEI (or whatever) firmwares they can update individually?

In the meantime, just for peace of mind I copied bios 1 to bios 2, just to prevent the possibility.

    Question ghosts in my mashine

    Hello friends,

i had running the BIOS 3101for a good time now , the day it was out to be more exactly, and i had 2 or 3 randon restarts , and no error messages in the
Event log file, and sometimes was some drivers just stopped working in USB like keybored , mouse , then soundkard , webcam , USB mic, and didnt come back.

very strange but for days it worked fine , i didnt overclock or hardware changes nothing , very strange ...

    I Switched back to 2101 ...

Also now my Video recording looking more stable in the recording prozess.

Now i also realised then the "5 way optimisation" (i hope i wrote this corect) , shows again the OC CPU valores like 4000 Mhz , 4500 MHz and so on , could that be there
is more to update for the 3101 BIOS then just the BIOS flash itself ?

Ok it could also be i made something wrong but i have no idea what could that be ...

I know that maybe dosent help so much but i just wanted to report this ...

I also have tried the last few new bios, my issue with them was restarting in the middle of editing. The temps also seemed higher! Have also reflashed 2101 and it as stable as ever.

    Hello fred1922 ,

i have now made several recordings and editing from video and its working just fine now with 2101 BIOS i do agree so its the best BIOS for me too .

But i am a little disapointed why there are 2 BIOS lines like serie 2x AND 3x BIOS and there is no real explanation WHY Asus is doing that , what are the
Diferences between these 2 BIOS , so maybe then is true that depends on your hardware what BIOS to choose from ?
The Rampage IV Black Edition there is 1 BIOS Rock solid , i liked that so much so i got the next one R5E but i had a hard start with this one
and on top 2 BIOS types, without a explanation - WHY and What is the diferens and what are the conditions to take a decision what BIOS to choose ?

Maybe there will be later on a General BIOS and not this confusing 2 lines way like now ....

For me , for now is working 2101 best , no problems with hardware or something .

    Greetings

    Nonny

The 3000 are for the coming BW-E processors, i don't know why anyone would think they would be better for H-E, that said 3101 seems to work just fine for me
