Bios Freeze!!! Help me

Matte8DJ

Hello Guys, I wanted to ask what is the problem that freezes the bios using the function (latest changes) or when it adjusts fan speeds from the charts within QFan tuning ..
it happens to you ?? It happens with any version of the BIOS...
Thanks in advance for the answers

Hi Matte8DJ

Welcome to the ROG forum.

Does the freezing happen at default bios settings?

Hello
no, because it tells me I have not made any changes, but in this case I just activated profile xmp of ram memories, I also tried it with other ram with lower frequencies, it does not change, I tried different video cards, fans and hard disk, I disabled the dedicated sound card having one dedicated (the only change I really need). the problem is still the same, the function last changes freeze the bios, and I can not adjust the fan from the graph manually with the mouse because it stops. I would not know what may be due.

On the extreme tweaker tab try raising the cpu system agent voltage to 1.20v - 1.25v.

This will help stabilize your ram if that's what's causing the freezing.

for now I seem to have solved, I run a clear cmos and rewritten the bios from ez flash 2 instead of using the button in the back of MB at PC off ...
if you have other freeze place in this Thread.
Now I start to get a bit of overclocking, you can give me some advice?
thanks in advance

Great to hear a bios update fixed you up and you have a good cpu cooler for overclocking !

Download ROG realbench and use it for stress testing, start with the stress test, select how many GB of ram you have and select duration 15 minutes.

http://rog.asus.com/rog-pro/realbench-v2-leaderboard/

If you don't have a cpu temp monitoring program realtemp 3.70 is good to use.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Real-Temp.shtml

ROG CPU-Z for cpu voltage monitoring

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html#version-history

In the bios set the ai overclock tuner to manual, sync all cores and set the cpu core ratio to 47, scroll down and set the cpu core voltage to manual and enter 1.35v in the cpu core voltage override, F10 and enter to save and exit.

Once in windows open up all 3 programs, run the 15 minute stress test and monitor the cpu temps with realtemp and see the voltage is 1.35v in cpu-z. If the temp goes over 90c stop the test.

If temps are good and you pass the test, raise the cpu core ratio to 48 and test again, if you pass try the cpu core ratio at 49. Keep raising it until the test fails then back down the core ratio by 1.

Let me know what you end up with or if you need further help. 🙂

stable system after a 15min test prime95, cpu temp max 86 °.
stable system after a 15min test realbench, cpu temp max 75 °
My current settings are:
XMP profile active 10-12-12-31-2t 2401mhz 1.65v
base clock: 100.0
Core ratio: x46
Cache ratio min / max: x40
the voltages manual
Core voltage: 1.28
Cache voltage: 1.19 is the default fix to manual
system agent Offset: +0.2
dram voltage: 1.65
initial / eventual cpu voltage: 1.86 is the default fix to manual
to stress test better prime95 or realbench or XTU ??
Why prime95 I note with temperatures so high?
Now I try with x48 ratio and 1.35 vcore

Please use realbench your temps will be much lower with it.

Let me know how far you get and what cpu temps are.

Looking good so far. 🙂

Hello
After various tests I obtained the highest balance with 4.60 ghz 1.28 vcore ..
at 4.70 GHz with vcore 1:35 it did BSOD but the system sometimes slowed down a lot.
maybe my chip is not among the best
I will stop here for now ... thanks for the advice
