    E5-2679V4 on R5E

Any one tried this? I want to change my 5960x to this E5 monster. Perhaps the best E5 V4?

You should wait little more time, maybe ASUS expand CPU list for RVE.
If you ask me that's only question of BIOS.
He could work on RVE and ASUS X99 E WS only if ASUS decide.
She support Intel Xeon E5-2699-v3 and I think Xeon V4 will work as well.

E5-2679V4 only costs less than $2000. It is 20C 50MB L3 3.2G full core boot
And I saw some one put it on X99-A and worked well.
Dont know whether the newest bios on RVE works or not.

    I don't see such a beast on intel's website...
    http://ark.intel.com/products/family...v4-Family#@All

There is only one v4 20 core chip:
    E52698V4 2.2GHz (3.6 Turbo)

    It's a bit more than $2000
    http://www.amazon.com/INTEL-PROCESSO...=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

~$3G which mind you is less than 2 10C Xeon's that run at that speed, but....

    Ok I got one.
The BIOS is 3101 and the CPU works very well.
In CineBenchR15 it gets over 3100.
It has a TDP wall @ 140 W ~ 150 W. 3.2 GHz full cores under the wall and 2.9 GHz full cores after.
    And memory runs @2400
The temp is so good. 50 C under full load.
