My 6850k does 4.2 Ghz on stock volts, 4.4 Ghz on 1.318v IBT stable.
Its quite a large voltage increase needed for an additional 200 Mhz.

Am I the only one with the 6800K here ? I tried all day yesterday to OC via Bios to no avail. Even the 6 Core OC profile on the R5E yields unstable system. So I decided to use the ease of AIS RC and only got as far as 4.3Ghz. Also when I run Aida64 it only scales up to 3.8ghz. I tried Prime95 although I was told to stay away from it on this platform only then did I see 4.3Ghz for a while then it went back to 3.8...
I won't pretend to understand any of this but I left things as they are. I have never messed with OCing and now know that this is best left to the Pros... My system is stable so left it alone for now.

Your CPU throttled due to over-temperature, that's why it was running at 3.8GHz with Prime95. Likely you didn't follow the methodology in the guide, because you'd have a lot more info in the post if things were done systematically.

I do not understand a thing. That's why I used AIS. I thought AIS was supposed to things right the easy way. I tried OCing from Bios with the help of Overclock.net guys. All I got was an unstable system. All I know how to do is follow a step by step guide with the values to use in it. I dunno how to guess, and too afraid to. What could AiS have done wrong ?

How much is avarage OC of i7-6900K?
I thought maybe to upgrade because I have some good offer and after I sell my CPU I will lost 200 euro.
Now I have i7-5820K. Is it worth for upgrade?
I would not go more than 4-4.2GHz because cooling.
Now I keep i7-5820K on 4.2GHz?
Or wait little more and than replace for i7-6950X?
