Best displayport cable for Acer Predator X34?

Lynkdev

Looking for a 10ft cable that wont give me any issues running from my titan x sli setup to this monitor please. I was looking on amazon and cable matters brand seems worrisome with random issues.

I'm looking for a cable that's 1.2 and can handle the 3440 res at 100hz.

Ouch on the price, but I bit on a 10ft DP 24GWD for dvigear just now to see if it resolves my issue.
I have a Accell 10ft DP one currently which is ok, it just gives me a black screen about once or twice a month coming out of sleep mode. Fix is just to turn on/off the LCD but that is a drag on my clean ride, if you know what I mean.

Hi Lynkdev,

Wow, I guess I should have learned more about your gear. That's a very nice Monitor. All good. If my quick research is correct, your Acer Predator X34 only has two inputs. 1 x HDMI and 1 x DP. I'm not a tech guru. I have yet to wade into the pond of SLI or Crossfire setups. I'm not sure about cable adapters used between the GPU cards output and Monitor input. Put simply, The monitor I have listed in my forum profile will only achieve 144Hz refresh using a DVI cable. So yes this is for my specific setup/gear.

If I had not read about the fact that for the ASUS VG248QE monitor and the HDMI 60Hz cap, I would have never known, to really get that 144Hz refresh I need to use the DVI DL connection. Again. For my specific setup.

Links that got me there are linked for you as well. This current build I have is replacing my rig from six years ago. Back in the glory days of the AMD Phenom II Black Edition Six cores. And it's still alive and well.

I had to relearn all of this tech info. Only linking it because it really helped me out to remember the basics most take for granted. Regarding the GPU and Monitor connection cabling options.

Well met,

Osiris

The first link is highly outdated and not helpful (but destructive) to the OP looking for a correct DP Cable. The later link is 'data blather'.

Anyway, Thx for the outdated google search thus far.

Humm,

How is a link to the consortium of vendors and others that created the DP connection link destructive?

Just trying to help.

Have a great weekend,

🙂
