Each program uses different ways of testing. Some are standard writing/reading. Some use compressed info others don't and others still mix the read/writes with compressed and uncompressed.

That program you showed uses information that is much harder for SSD's to read/write fast. Some feel that it is a better way of showing 'real world' usage.

I have two of the SM961 256GB running in RAID 0 and can get Crystalmark and the Samsung Magician scores of 6.4 reads and 3.5 writes.

    1TB
Looks nice (i.e. you cant see it hidden under a graphics card), makes for a clean windowed case build
    Fast
Temp monitoring in AIDA 64 works.
Doesn't get that hot at all when used mainly as a "read" i.e. boot drive.

    Cons:
Samsung Magician software won't recognize it so you will never be able to update the firmware
However, Samsung never even issues firmware updates for the OEM drives away.

    Magician Pic:

    a quick bench:

I own the SM961 512GB, and I've been able to install the 950's NVM Express Driver in device manager. Performance increased a bit, so I should totally recommend to give it a try.

Is this a sign the 960 pro is coming out soon?

    http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor...er/960pro.html

It points to the 950 page, but maybe they're prepping the page for the release?

OMG there it is! Is real! I'm pretty sure we'll have a retail 960 Pro, and for those of us with the SM961 we'll get a newer NVM Express driver, which will help improve performance.

I want my drives as soon as possible.
It would be nice to Samsung launch 960 PRO NOW.
21 June they write 960 PRO and 960 EVO will arrive soon.
What will be 960 EVO, SSD SATA III?

For me price is very important factor as well.
Price of 950 PRO 512GB or SM961 512GB same as 850 EVO 1TB are fine for me, 850 PRO 1TB is to expensive and I don't need him.
I plan to pay as they cost. It would be nice if price of 960 PRO and 960 EVO are similar.
