I just finished a new build and upon the first time starting it to go in and check BIOS settings, the POST takes too long. It takes about 3-4 minutes for it to finish and then the BIOS prompt will show on the monitor.
I checked and rechecked all the hardware and cable connections. Memory is compatible w/motherboard and is registering correctly in BIOS. Checked some basic BIOS settings for when I was getting ready to have it boot on the optical drive for installing Windows 10 64, but beyond that I don`t know what a lot of those BIOS settings are yet.
Anyone know why it takes so long to finish POST?

I'm not familiar with the issue but I would start by disconnecting everything non-essential to posting, removing all but one memory stick, etc. Basically strip it down to CPU and one stick of memory. If it still has the problem try swapping the single stick for another stick.

Hi Not_Enough_Rage 🙂 and Welcome to ROG.

Do you have your Windows installed in UEFI mode.?
Go to your Boot tab in the BIOS.
There are a lot of options like, Fast Boot ,disabling USB ports on boot, disabling the ASUS logo, Time to report post etc...
Only change these settings when your system is stable and running correctly.

POST goes thru a cycle to determine your hardware and setup and can take a while. Some of the checks are unnecessary.
