6900K How to get past 4.5Ghz?

Hello.

I got a 6900K @ 4.5Ghz at 1.410 volt. I just cant get past 4.5ghz, no matter if I raise the volt to 1.435.

setup:

Asus X99 Deluex II
Intel Core I7 6900K
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 3000Mhz CL15 @ OC 3400Mhz CL 15
2x EVGA GeForce GTX 980 TI Classfield
Watercooling step: 2x 360 Tripple and 1x single 140MM rat.
Max temp on cpu @ 4.5Ghz - 62C

Hope any one can help me here 🙂
is it becuase AVX core is on?
and what is the max volt I can go to?

4.5 is a very good OC for BWE, don't be surprised if you can't go past that with any reasonable setting. That is an outstanding temp for that voltage as well. What are you running when you see 62C max?

As far as what is safe? I have no idea, but 1.40 for me with a 6950x on a custom loop is already pushing me well past what a 420+280 EK setup could handle comfortably (only pull on the 420, push/pull on the 280 - loop serves CPU and 2xgtx980).

There are plenty of 69xx chips out there that simply won't go past 4.3 without much more extreme voltages and exotic cooling.

sorry for the late reply.

is Asus Real Bench I use.

my 24/7 OC is 4Ghz at 1.192 volt. I do only run 4.5Ghz at bench.

Once the CPU is near limits, the voltage needed for an extra 100MHz is far beyond the 0.03V you are willing to provide. It can require more than 0.1V in some cases, which puts temps into the throttling zone.

yea im running 4.5Ghz at 1.4 volt, and tryed 4.6GHhz at 1.45 so far, no luck crash with the same under little load.

I even tryed disable 2 cores so it be a 6 cores for test, the same thing.

SO I think the problemer is a other place or :)?

They went all the way to 1.5volts but cannot get it beyond 4.3Ghz.

For me I was running 4.4Ghz Insurgency and Arma 3 no issue. But for Rainbow Six Siege at 4.4Ghz it crashes non-stop, I found out later that R6 is very nicely optimized till all cores were used and that load is making it unstable. So for Rainbow Six Siege I have to drop back to 4.3Ghz then it is okay!

So at 1.5volts YMMV, good luck and let me know, I am prepared to go for 4.5Ghz and just be happy 🙂 and I think I will go as high as only 1.4volts and no further, we shall see.

Ferdinand

tryed disable 7 cores, So I only had the best 1 core. and would still not boot at 4.6Ghz.

is there any other thing that matters here:)?

cpu still at max 62c.

Hello

Raise VCORE some more.
