You're welcome
If you crank up the voltage to 100% you should be able to squeeze more out of the core clock. Default voltage is 1.063v, cranking the voltage to 100% will put the voltage at 1.093v.

i tried going 100%, doesn't look good. keeps crashing even though i go lower on the core clock (+20,+33,+40), so frustrated because i am unable to find the MAX clock i can achieve, perhaps i didn't get a good OC chip on this one. bummer. On the bright side, memory seems good at 9400 no artifacts that i can see of.
My Observation: temps goes 73°-75°c with 100% voltage + 100% fan speed. Taking the tempered glass side panel off i can manage to drop it -2°c. Thermal Throttling? or my TX550 psu is not supplying good stable power to the PSU? thinking to change it to 650 or getting plat tier psu just to see if it makes a difference.
Heaven bench, i noticed every time it reaches scene 7 the Min FPS would drop to 38ish FPS then would gradually drop throughout the benchmarking and Scene 25 where all the crash will happen. Dumb question: do i have to restart PC every time heaven crashes? because i've kept Benchmarking without restarting the PC.

Yeah you don't have to restart your pc if it crashes unless something doesn't look right.
If the Nvidia driver is crashing I think it's just too high of an overclock, your psu should be fine even for overclocking your Strix 1070. Try and keep temps below 70c and see if this keeps the core clock at a higher MHz.
You might not want to add any voltage, it seems you got a better core clock overclock with the voltage at default. The core clock is where the real performance gain is, you could start over with the voltage at default and see how far you can get the core clock, then overclock the memory which I still see 9200MHz - 9400MHz.
Don't feel bad, I can only get a +33MHz overclock on the core, yours is hitting a max of 2063MHz which mine does too.Last edited by Nate152; 08-17-2017 at 02:16 AM.

Thanks Nate, nah im not 100% bummed out because my Chip is not performing like most. Im more frustrated about not 100% understand how OCing works in relation to the values that we set while overclocking with each other (i thought i did). For instance, i did a fresh re-do. Set everything Only Volt:100%, target: 120%, temp: 92° and bump up the core starting from:-
1890 - crash
1880 - crash
1870 - crash
1860 - 50/50.....and thats factory value........
I even tried lowering all at a small decrements at a time. Still not much improvement. However, Dropping the Volt to +10% or +0% , seems to help in Heaven.
But when i just Benchmark with Standard OC, everything is fine.
So either:
a. My 1070 really that bad (in terms of OC capabalities)
b. Im doing something wrong
c. Something with my rig is not performing (Suspect either PSU or RAM)
I tried Valley, it run although not smoothly at least it doesnt crash. So now, im back to square one, not sure Valley or Heaven to use as a good reference. Googled it and have mix opinion on that matter.
Im going to stop for now, meditate and come back and try again. Sorry for coming back and troubling you, im sure after 77 page, you've seen it all hehhe.

No problem at all, another benchmark you can try is Superposition.

tried to run benchmark Superposition on my GTX 1070 OC version, only managed to get score 3566.
Hardware spec:
CPU: Intel i7 7700k
RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4 3200 MHz
GPU: Asus Strix Rog GTX 1070 O8G
Nvidia Driver: 385.28
OS: Windows 10 Build 14393
Resolution: 1920 * 1080
Fullscreen: Enabled
Shaders: Extreme
Texture: High
DOF: Enabled
Motion Blur: Enabled
Results:
FPS: Min: 22.07, Avg: 26.67, Max: 30.89
GPU: Min: 42, Max: 72
GPU Uilization: Max 100%
Is my results consider under average ?
How can I improve the results and temperature ?
Note: This is the stock GPU without any manual overclock.
