Mild 4.8? That's pretty good for the 6700k.

That looks about right comparing it to my score where I have the nvidia control panel set to quality, if you set the nvidia control panel 3d settings to performance you'd get a nice increase in your score but I'd set it back to quality for your games.

Or you can leave it as is it looks good.

Have you posted in Chino's ROG Strix 1080 overclocking guide? They're using Unigine heaven as the benchmark, you could run that and compare your score with them.

LOL no I'm not kicking you out and you're welcome here.

It would be good though to compare your score with Chino's.

    help plz

So I followed all the instruction on overclocking my GPU however im not seeing any performance increase. I can't really boost anything else cause it will crash my driver. Here are my settings listed since this forum apparently can't handle file uploads well. I made sure the OC was taking with GPU-Z and not resetting back to stock.

    CARD: ROG STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING
    CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor (4143MHz) x3
    GPU CLOCK: 1743 MHZ
    MEMORY: 2156 MHZ
    BOOST: 1945 MHZ

    STOCK BENCHMARK @ 1920x1067 windowed
    FPS: 78.0
    Score: 3262
    Min FPS: 22.9
    Max FPS: 123.4

    OVERCLOCK BENCHMARK @ 1920x1067 windowed
    FPS: 77.8
    Score: 3255
    Min FPS: 22.5
    Max FPS: 124.8

at a loss here as I am new to overclocking and not sure what else to do. any help is appreciated. thanks

    Hi dirtwulf

Welcome to the ROG forum !

If your gpu has Micron memory it may not overclock as well as the ones with Samsung memory but a few have been able to reach almost 9400Mhz with Micron memory. You can check this in GPU-Z under Memory Type. There is a vbios update that is supposed to help with Micron memory overclocking and can be found at the Asus support center. Updating the vbios does have risks and it is at your discretion whether you want to update it.

My ROG Strix 1070 has the Samsung memory.

Try running the benchmark in full screen and post us a screenshot of GPU tweak II and your unigine valley score before and after your overclock please.

    Thank you

    Hello Nate,

I did follow all your instructions perfectly including flashing the BIOS file. I unfortunately can't run your settings as it crashes my driver. I'm able to boost the clock more but have to significantly crank down the memory clock.
Again, this forum does not allow me to embed images or use html for some reason so i'll post the links instead.

I also want to mention that I have AI suite installed as well because I have the 970 pro motherboard. I'll try uninstalling the suite and running the OC again.

I uninstalled AI Suite and that actually made my benchmark worse.

    Thank you

You should be able to post screenshots, try using google chrome.

I see you have Micron memory which in most cases doesn't overclock as far as Samsung memory.

Your FX 6300 is holding you back is why your score is lower than mine but should still show a gain after overclocking your ROG Strix 1070.

It could be the driver is crashing during the benchmark, when the driver crashes the benchmark will continue to run but performance is bad hence the Min FPS at 3.6, try backing off your overclock a little more.

You can start over if you like and start with the Boost Clock, once you find the maximum Boost Clock then move on to overclocking the memory.

Congratulations on overclocking your ROG Strix 1070, that is an awesome Micron memory overclock ! You may can get more out of the GPU Boost Clock some are able to get over 2100MHz.

Is your monitor native 1080p? If so here is my score with 1080p, ultra settings and no antialiasing.

This is with my 6700k overclocked to 4.75GHz and the Nvidia control panel set to performance.

Hi Nate! Today I bought myself a new PSU.
a Corsair RM750x because my old one was from 2008 "Corsair TX650" and screamed like a pig in OC mode. =)

so now I try to just run GPU Tweak on OC, and already some improvement.
So now it's time to start the clock
