Your monitor must be native 1080p then no big deal, your G4400 dual core cpu with 2 threads at 3.3GHz is holding you back a good bit, you put a 6600k or 6700k in there and you'd see a big difference.

Setting the Nvidia control panel to high performance will help give you a better score.

It shows windows 8 for me too.

I agree, Not only the CPU G4400 dual core is hindering my 1070 but the MoBo itself as well, Asus H110M D D3, It is a 6th gen board with a DDR3L support. Can I expect If I get a 6700K, I will get a higher benchmark than you? I am not sure but If I remembered and reading it right on your post somewhere here before, You get the crashing around 1800'ish for the boost clock? I can set mine currently as high as 1930 and 9500 with the fans auto 60-65c. I am not sure if this is where it limits the chip on the GPU or it can still go higher without crashing if I got a better processor?

A new cpu won't help your ROG Strix 1070 with overclocking but because they're both quad core with the 6700k having 8 threads and clocked much higher than the G4400 it will increase your score significantly as you can see.

What you see in the guide is the max my ROG Strix 1070 can overclock, one notch higher on the boost clock the benchmark crashes, any higher on the memory clock and I get artifacting.

I have my 6700k overclocked to 4.75GHz, since you have a higher overclock on your ROG Strix 1070 you should beat my score if you overclocked your 6600k - 6700k to 4.75GHz.

Perfect then, I guess the world is not unfair at all. I thought I had bad luck on tech. gadgets like my M8F. I just returned it earlier and they said they will get me a new one from another supplier / distributor with in a week or two or perhaps If I changed my mind I can change it to an i7 6700k. Hopefully this will be the last replacement since this is already the 4th one but I do not care about that anymore I will just wait and enjoy my 1070 at the time being which I think a good pot in the lottery draw xD. Thanks for the confirmation and support Nate, You only not help in technical aspects but you also Inspire other new ROG'ers as well. They should make you an official support or at least provide you a complimentary 1080 STRIX Xd.

LOL, that would be nice but my ROG Strix 1070 is performing great at 1440p.

Yeah that's too bad about the Formula VIII but at least they are looking out for you and are going to get you one from a different supplier. Once you get a working one I promise you'll love it.

I'm curious as to what cpu cooler you have, please finish filling out your pc specs.

    Is this your psu ?

500w is recommended for the 1070 and your 620w psu may be pushed to the limit when overclocking your cpu. It has japanese capacitors and seasonic is the OEM so it should be ok.

That is exactly what it is on the link you sent and is good to know that my 5 year old PSU is still recyclable which I used on a 4770K before but since it got thermal issues I ditched it and transitioned to 6th gen xD. I don't have issues on the PSU so far ever since I had it. Until now its working cool and silent. I am upgrading my rig bit by bit so I will be using stock clocks on an i7 K with stock fans . But will surely be adding later an NZXT Kraken x62 (would love to copy your cooler but there are no stocks available here in the PH). And thanks for raising this up. You actually got me ahead, I am planning to ask you soon about some tweaks on a K CPU and RAM OC'ing. About my Formula VIII, I love it even when its broken and despite the issues I had. Haha, I was able to use it for around 3 months and fell in love with it everyday xD

    Hi AbyXzss

Wow that is a HUGE overclock ! Very very nice you won the lottery with your ROG Strix 1070.

Try the benchmark at 2560 x 1440 resolution, ultra settings, no antialiasing and post your results for us.

I scored 111.1 FPS and I see you topping that easily.

    Hello All!

This is my Strix OC 1070, unfortunately on Micron memory. Running on an i7-3770k @ 4.4ghz at 1080p, Ultra and no AA.

    http://imgur.com/a/CFRQF

Question : Decided not to increase the core voltage as the o/c is quite decent (average 8% better fps than stock), but if I do increase the core voltage, would I get a better memory o/c ?

ps. "Upgraded" from a Zotac 1070 Amp as its cooler was appallingly bad (temps reached 82c @ 100% fan) whereas for ASUS it's at least 10-15c cooler. You get what you pay for I guess.

    Hi dodge775

Welcome to the ROG forum !

That looks good with the 3770k, you're not far behind and I bet gaming performance is great !

Haha yeah Asus has the cooling down for sure, the ROG Strix 1070 is the coolest running gpu I've ever owned.
