Which one is the latest version? Just want to check because I tried running the bios update checker or something and it says there's no update.

Ok then it sounds like your Strix 1070 has the latest vbios. Near the bottom of the overclocking guide in orange I posted the vbios updates.
Unfortunately there's not much you can do except increase the voltage and power limit and see what it will give you.

My question on STRIX GTX1070 OC
Hi recently i purchase the STRIX GTX1070 8g OC. First time OCing a GPU, my previous gpu was just a simple but still serve me well GPU for the past 4 years, GTX 730. So, that tells alot how much of a big jump this is for me. Currently, when i game i just stick to the standard OC mode that was set out of the box from ASUS. played Witcher 3, for few hours so far no problem and was able to hit around 90 to 100 FPS on ultra @ 1080p. I dont have 4K monitor so i guess a potato monitor @ 1080p would be sufficient for now.
SO...the big question, i tried OCing my Gpu, so far this is the best i can get it for now:
GPU Core: 1880
GPU Volt: 100%
Mem Clock: 9100
fan: Auto or Max
Power Target: 120%
Temp: 92
looking at GPU-Z the highest i can clock is around 2068 - 2075.
DRIVER & BIOS is the latest.
PC
Ryzen 5 - 1600 @ 3.95ghz (oc)
DDR4 - G.skill 8x2=16G 2800ghz (DOCP)
MOBO - Asus Strix B350-f
PSU - Corsair TX550M (Gold)
HDD - 1x WD 320gb, 1x Seagate 1tb - "2.5inch drive!!" (dont laugh lol, ran out of budget since i decided to go full Nuclear with the GTX1070 when i purchased my parts. Will upgrade by next month, SSD and HDD)
i will post my bench mark if needed. But, my question is, when i OC my gpu it seems 1880 is the most stable. 1890 - crash 1900 - crash. I just change the core clock and leave everything the same refering to guide. Mem clock seems i can go higher but i left it at 9100. Could any of my parts above effect my OC? or should i just accept that i didnt win the lottery?
Thanks dudes~

Hi mojo187
It looks like you've found your max stable overclock.
Please post a screenshot of GPU Tweak II and your benchmark score.

Hi! So i tried a little more tweaking and this is the best i can get. With Anti-x8 1080p.
Anti - off
Im happy with what i got but i cant seem to find out what is the average OC result specifically for Asus GTX 1070 (since this is new to me i would like to know). All i can find is how high people can overclock their GPU. Lottery or not, im just glad i am finally able to hit 90 above FPS and playing All AAA games.Last edited by mojo187; 08-15-2017 at 06:28 AM.

Thank you,
Have you tried updating the vbios? This should let you overclock the memory further. Near the bottom of the overclocking guide in orange I list the vbios updates and is for Micron memory.

Yeah, i've updated the vbios when i followed your tutorial, using the link you provided. I've not OC the memory that much when i OC the Core clock that much thinking it might effect the Core clock maximum value it can achieve. so i thought i stick to a safe value. Though i've OC the memory alone , i could go 9200 without any problem (have not gone higher then that). i'll just stick with 1888 core and try bumping the Mem clock see how much more i can get, will post it if it is both a success and stable.

Sounds good,
You should be able to run the memory at 9200MHz with your current core clock at +53MHz.

im back, you were right 9200 is the sweet spot. I tried upping it more but resulting in unstable benchmarking. Although, i manage to go 9400 max leaving the rest standard OC value, 9500 i get artifacts and etc. I have also brave myself to up the Core a little bit more.
so final result:
Benchmarked 3 times back to back and this is the best result.
Core: 1895 (+60)
Mem: 9200 (+1192)
GPU volt: +10
Fan speed: 100%
Temp: 67c - 68c
Target: 120
Just to add:
this benchmark is for GPU volt: +20. But couldnt get stable result in a row the most i can get is 2 times back to back, after that it crashes.
I think i finally understand how to OC the gpu properly and finding the maximum OC for my GPU chip. Im content and can sleep easy tonight. Thanks for taking the time making this guide and all the help you have provided us (all 77 page on this thread). Perhaps i will Win the lottery if i am crazy enough to upgrade to the 1080 Ti
Have a good day to you Good Sir! thank you again!
