    1) Is it advisable to have two oc profiles, one for 1080p, one for 1440p ?

Since you can get a higher overclock at 1080p, two oc profiles would be good.

    2) High temp and hitting the power limit are what causes pascal gpu's to throttle, we can thank gpu boost 3.0 for this.

The Strix 1070 is capable of running below 70c under full load which is what I recommend to do. You're able to run at 50c and below under full load and that is exceptionally good.

Higher resolutions and high levels of antialiasing can and most likely will cause you to hit the power limit. If you're not happy about hitting the power limit, you can always stick with 1080p.

I have a Titan Xp and it's basically the same, at 1440p it's fine, at 4k it hits the power limit. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about it.

    So in short:

To keep the highest sustained core clock, keep temp as low as possible and try not to hit the power limit.

Personally, I'd stick with 1440p as long as you're staying at or close to 60 FPS with your games.

What I have a hard time understanding is the fact that valley 1080p+8XAA and 1440p+no AA uses same amount of memory and has same amount of GPU load yet the power usage is hugely different. Is there some secret sauce Nvidia has that makes AA less powerhungry?

I have no clue, running 1080p@144hz for multiplayer games.

    All right

The Strix 1070 is probably the minimum for 1440p at 60 FPS.

Doom 2016 plays really well with Vulkan, it runs about 100 FPS at 1440p. This is with a very old Nvidia driver.

It's been a while since I played DOOM 2016, the information I posted above is not correct. Shadowplay or the game itself does not let you record with Vulkan enabled, the video above was recorded with Open GL, with Vulkan enabled expect more FPS at 1440p.

The latest Nvidia driver is 419.67 - https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driv...x/145534/en-us

The new Nvidia driver 425.31 supports Ray Tracing on the GTX 1060 and above, I tested the Justice demo with the Titan Xp, here are the results.

Keep an eye on the FPS counter

    Hi gorandroid

Destiny 2 and Watchdogs 2 are the same for me, they don't take memory overclocking very well. Try with the memory clock at default, let the boost clock where it is. If it's still crashing, use Battlefield 5 as your stability test.

Are you talking about your cpu cooler fans? They're likely ramping up and down according to cpu load/temp.

Yea cpu... i hate my 7700k cause of temp spikes, but i noticed in bf5 it always go on full load more or less... anyways i switched to default then ive just chosen the oc mode profile that is presented with this gputweak2 it works like that but i dont think that theres even 1 percent in fps boost lol.
