I see you got your cpu overclock to 5.2GHz that's awesome !

Your score is showing SLI is working and that is still nice gpu overclocks.

I see you use the best non conductive thermal compond the thermal grizzly kryonaut, I use that too.

It looks like your ready to play some games.

Yes I have pushed him to 5.2Ghz with good temps but only for bench, I'm staying stock during 24/7 usage and gaming, because 4.5GHz is largely sufficient in 1440p Ultra settings. Full stock he's around 40-45°c in game, that's fine.

Can be able to get more fps (and score) with a HB bridge (I use the ROG Enthusiast 2way bride) and more practice, but I prefer to leave my cpu stock, I already burned a 6700k (5.162GHz then rekt) that's enough for me So I will not redo bench (at 5.2GHz) as long as I don't have a major change on my pc. This represents too much risk for little gain.

Everything run super smooth, 4K rendering in AEE, DX11 Games, somes DX12 games, Strix 1070 is a great graphic card.
I chose these because of the temp, less than GTX 1080, and performance, more than GTX 1060.
Temperature is an important factor in open-air case, less temp - less rpm - less dBa

As long as you stay around 1.35v and no more than 65c you can run your 7700k at 5.2GHz with no problems. My 6700k isn't that great, I can only get 4.75GHz with games and when recording while playing I have to drop to 4.6GHz.

Did you get your free year of Xsplit Gamecaster? I record videos with it and upload them to youtube then post them here.

Here is watchdogs 2 recorded with Xsplit Gamecaster.

You can stream with Xsplit too.

Yeah recording/streaming puts a hefty load on the cpu especially at higher resolutions and quality settings, high resolution and quality settings also make videos take longer to upload.

Since you do recordings can you post some of your videos recorded with shadowplay ?

    I'd like to see some.

I'll record and stream the Wildlands beta week-end, because the week-end I have unlimited 4G in speed (~5mbps) and data (restricted to 600kbps the rest of the week).

Will be more easy (and fast) to upload the video with 2mbps (up) than my actual 0.80mbps

    Exclamation Overclocking problem

    Hi guys!

I have bit of an problem, i think so at least.. I have been trying to overclock my 1070 rog strix oc, but i wont get any, like huge performance difference.. or at least i think so. I had to switch gpu tweak II to msi afterburner, because gpu tweak just bugged on me somehow. As i runned the heavenly benchmark, the monitor of gpu tweak showed the gpu core clock to hover around 740Mhz as memory clock was at the maximum at that curren clock. And i dont know why, but afterburner seems a lot more stable.. My settings for heavenly benchmark is ultra, tesselation max, no AA and 1080p.

So i got things running good with msi afterburner, monitors working etc. But how can it possibly be, that at stock i got these results:

And when OC:ed i got this:

These are my settings on afterburner, i also put the gpu-z here so you can see how much of an overclock there is overall..

    MSI (tepm target 92)

    GPU-Z (current goes around 1.0500 - 1.0930mV in oc)

So.. my min fps went up by 0.1, so not much of an improvement, even in score or max fps. Is that even a good overclock? If i start to put more on the memory, it crashes and even if i but 5mhz more to gpu core clock, it starts to make artifacts.. So um, help or advise, im bit confused? Oh and in gpu tweak, settings were +83Mhz on core and for memory +1252Mhz(stable). My cpu is intel i7 3770, running on XMP mode, if it makes any difference..

    Hi Yamashiro

Welcome to the ROG forum !

There is an issue with the new Nvidia driver 378.49 and GPU Tweak II not reading the core clock correctly, a new version of GPU Tweak II should be coming soon.

Your overclock looks great, getting a 1250MHz overclock with Micron memory is excellent and your score is reflecting a nice performance boost. Can you run the unigine valley benchmark at 1440p, ultra settings with Antialiasing turned off as that's what we're using to compare scores.

If you can only run the benchmark at 1080p this is what I get with the extreme HD test.

    Hi

Thank you very much! It´s nice to be part of this forum. I´l try this evening if i could do 1440p, altought i have 1080p monitor. I will try 1080p with max AA also and compare to yours. Today it tested some gaming with these settings and worked like a charm. This is a silly guestion, but how does this afterburner offset work, like is my 625Mhz offset in afterburner the same as i would put 1250Mhz in gpu tweak? Like afterburner adds it to base clock and gpu tweak to boost clock?
