Just tried to get my computer to boot for over an hour on 3301. Constant Q Code 19's. Eventually would boot a few rare times only to show "overclocking failed" on the Megatrends screen.

I changed every Bios setting imaginable to try to get rid of the "overclocking failed" message to see if I could get into Windows,, but to no avail.

Went back to 2101 with the exact same attempted OC settings and I'm running rock solid again.

Not a single 3K series bios will work for me. Grrrrr

Does the code 19 appear after the first BOOT following the UEFI update?

    Yes.

I then tried resetting the CMOS (push button on back of mobo) and that got rid of the Code 19's, but still would not boot. It just cycled through a whole lot of Qcodes every manual boot attempt mostly dead ending on code 96. Oddly enough after a ton of manual restarts it suddenly "automatically" went back to the other bios 1st chip on its own to boot up, which is my 2101 bios and i put the OC/settings into 2101 and all is great again.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have still bought this ASUS board 18 months ago, as every single bios that is 2101 and prior still works rock solid flawlessly for me, and I'm breaking 13,000 in Time Spy ( http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13937888 )...................... for the sake of being PC enthusiast, would Just like to see a NEW bios release that actually works, but if that never happens I still have an extremely reliable beast of system on 2101.

When you perform the flash, after it is complete, the board should reBOOT and update some of the onboard microcontrollers. It may sit on various POST codes for a while and should be left alone for a few minutes. If that process isn't completing or is being interrupted, it will result in all manner of issues. Wondering if your board is getting through that initial BOOT. I have known of users interrupting that process because they think something is amiss, although someone such as yourself isn't likely to make that mistake..

Raja, would also please explain what the "Haswell-E SFR Adjust" setting does and offer for us Haswell-E owners? Why it affects some people's overclock negatively and some's positively with huge discrepancies between results? I am unable to find specifications about it since the 3101 BIOS thread.

Would you please elaborate on it?

    Thank you in advance.

I've tried setting CR-2 and also I've tried lowering memory timings (16-17-17 / 17-18-18) for the 3000MHz settings in 3301 but still RVE only displayed B7 q-code, no go.

And I would not agree with your opinion that the BIOS 3xxx series does not like CR -1. BIOS 3101/3202 worked seamlessly with CR -1 and 3000MHz memory speed.

Tried 2933 too, same issue. I was able to boot 2800, but that doesn't net me enough gain over 2666 to make going through the whole ordeal of stability testing again worth it.

At least 3301 does give a memory boost all on it's own though. Sergio, there's a good chance you may actually be getting better performance with 2933 on 3301 than with 3000 on 3202. Have you compared?
Yes I have compared results, 3301 has the highest throughput in AIDA64 Cache & Memory Benchmark.

I just updated from 2101 to 3301 - it took about 10-15 reboots and runs now perfectly fine, even with the very same OC settings.

    Hello ,

I just wanted to report that i have proabely found the problem i had with the 3.xxx BIOS line , after i got the new BIOS chip with 3202 it worked realy fine, i got this
new BIOS chip Pre-flashed so it is error free and a clean flash , BUT i could not make work the Camera (Logitech c930e) under BIOS 2101 it was Working in
Skype and Camtasia , strange but in a 3.xxx BIOS no way ... strange ....

Now i got a new Camera because i wanted to have the 3301 BIOS the Camera is now C920 from Logitech also , and all works fine , could this be that the camera
was the problem all the time , not the BIOS and so on , there was more people here what had a Problem with video and editing from Videos , also i found out
that the Logitech C930e has problems with there Firmware the last update is from dec-2015 i belive and there forum dosent respont more questions about this
problem , ok BUT now with the C920 no problems i made already several tests here and no problems so fare on 3301 BIOS ! (Not Overclocked)

Ok to see how its working i need to do more time to see how it will be stable or not but still before these kind of things where impossible , maybe there are more
People here with that problem so this could be then a out dated hardwar/firmware what causes all the problems at the final end .

I know maybe not realy helpfull but still i wanted to say this maybe there are more people they want to have newest BIOS and have maybe also a Hardware whats not realy
Working or is a little old ...

    Greetings

Nonny - on 3301 BIOS - working the first time ;-)
