Maximus Hero VIII - How to remove SupremeFX?
Hello
I just wanted to ask if it's possible to use the Realtek software only without the SupremeFX overlay?
The reason why I'm asking this is because I want to use the equalizer without sonicstudio.
I've tried to completely uninstall and reinstall the driver from the Realtek website, but unfortunately the SupremeFX overlay shows up again.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Yes, you can if you download the audio driver directly from the Realtek website instead.

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried the following steps:
- uninstalled the Realtek Driver
- used CCleaner and Glary Utilities to clean the registry and temporary files
- downloaded and installed the realtek driver from the official site (R2.79)
However the Asus SupremeFX overlay does show up again
Any suggestions why this is happening? Apart from BIOS updates, I've never installed any drivers or software from the Asus homepage.

It will always show up. You'd have to dig in resource files to find the skin.

Well, that's a shame then.
The skin wouldn't bother me if I could get access to the soundeffect settings (equalizer, environment etc.) without sonic stage like on my other PC with an ASRock mainboard, which has the same soundchip by the way.
If there's really no other way, then I will buy the Soundblaster Z soundcard and hope that my system shuts down normally.
